Five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings hosted the CSK Roar Event at Chepauk on Sunday, bringing their OGs back together for the joy of their fans.

Of course, MS Dhoni hogged the majority of the limelight, as the 44-year-old has been the part of the Yellow Army ever since IPL’s introduction, way back in 2008.

Earlier, the veteran wicketkeeper batter was amazed to see Mike Hussey rolling back the years against CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s bowling. Later, crowds went berserk when they saw their beloved ‘Thala’ making a gesture that reminded them of his golden days with the franchise and the country.

Dhoni Review System Back

More often than not, CSK keeper was successful during his captaincy when DRS was in play. Even though the full form of DRS is Decision Review System, fans fondly called it the Dhoni Review System, particularly because of his immensely successful rate whenever he challenged on-field umpires’ decisions.

Captains have to do ‘T’ signs to confirm to the umpires that they will challenge the on-field decision within 15 seconds for DRS. He used to do the same, but the aura around him always made it look extra special in front of the audience.

CSK fans watched it live once again on Sunday, as Dhoni funnily made a T sign when the umpire signalled wide during KKR mentor Dwayne Bravo’s bowling. Ambati Rayudu was batting at that time, and he swung and missed before the ball went to his gloves.

Immediately after watching the umpire extending his arms for a wide, his gesture for DRS – known as the Dhoni Review System – caught everyone’s attention. No wonder CSK’s social media handle captured the moment to share on social media.

What Is CSK Roar Event?

For fans and everyone around the globe, the CSK Roar Event is the first-ever event from the Yellow Brigade. The event is very similar to RCB's Unbox event, where all the OGs – like Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers – come together at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to bring joy and laughter to their fans.

CSK too had brought in all the OG members, including Matthew Hayden, Parthiv Patel, Ambati Rayudu, Harbhajan Singh and Bravo, among others. Dhoni was the leader of the pack, and he too was seen having a lot of fun while reuniting with his old folks.

Moreover, AR Rahman and Sivakarthikeyan were present to make a fusion of music and cricket.

CSK IPL 2026 Schedule

CSK will begin their IPL 2026 campaign on March 30, against Rajasthan Royals. It will be played in Guwahati.

Chepauk will have their first IPL match of the season on April 3. Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings will travel to Chennai to play Match 7 of IPL 2026.
