He is now just 20 points behind India ODI captain Shubman Gill, who still holds the top position with 816 points in the latest ICC ODI batting rankings released on September 30, 2026.The latest rankings saw several major changes after a busy week in ODI cricket. Eight centuries were scored in the format, including six on September 27. His figures of 4/20 and 2/54 against Australia in the ongoing SA vs AUS ODI series moved him three places to third with 667 points.India’s Kuldeep Yadav also moved up four places to fifth with 623 points after taking four wickets against the West Indies. Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage also climbed 12 places to 26th among ODI bowlers with 542 points.Josh Hazlewood climbed five places to 10th with 591 points after taking four wickets in the first two ODIs against South Africa. South Africa's Marco Jansen also made progress in the ODI all-rounder list.
