Rohit Sharma returns, Hardik Pandya ruled out for Mumbai Indians
Rohit Sharma made his return to the Mumbai Indians playing XI after a gap of nearly a month, doing so for the match against the LSG in Mumbai. Earlier in the tournament, the cricketer was forced to skip multiple matches owing to his hamstring injury.

His captain Hardik Pandya, meanwhile, was ruled out of the playing XI owing to a back spasm.
Akshat Raghuwanshi joins rare IPL club on debut
Akshat Raghuwanshi made his IPL debut in match number 47 of the IPL 2026 season. Batting at number six for the LSG franchise against the Mumbai Indians in Mumbai, the 22-year-old struck a six off his first ball of the innings.
While the youngster managed to score just 11 off seven balls in the game, Raghuwanshi became only the 11th cricketer in IPL history to hit a six off the first ball of his IPL career on debut.
Sydney Sixers name James Hopes as new head coach for BBL 2026-27
The Sydney Sixers management has roped in former Australian cricketer James Hopes as the new head coach of the team. Notably, Hopes is currently in India as part of the Punjab Kings coaching set-up for the ongoing IPL 2026 season.
The ex-cricketer will be replacing outbound coach Greg Shipperd as he signed a two-year deal with the Sydney Sixers franchise.
Ayush Mhatre suffers another injury after CSK setback
CSK top-order batter Ayush Mhatre has now suffered yet another injury setback after getting ruled out of the IPL 2026 season owing to his hamstring injury. The youngster has now been diagnosed with a wrist injury, which will likely keep him out of action for two months.
With his latest injury, the 18-year-old might also miss the upcoming 2026 T20 Mumbai League in Mumbai for the Triumph Knights team.
MS Dhoni skips Delhi travel, but CSK return still on
MS Dhoni is yet to play a single game for the CSK franchise in the ongoing IPL 2026 season so far owing to his injury concern. The legendary wicketkeeper-batter also did not travel with his team to Delhi for their upcoming away match against the Delhi Capitals on May 5.
A recent report stated that the cricketer will stay back in Chennai to continue his rehabilitation. The franchise, however, still believes that the former skipper will return to the playing XI at some stage of the tournament.
