PBKS Coach Cracks 2-Year Deal, Replaces Greg Shipperd The 47-year-old replaces former coach Greg Shipperd with a two-year deal. For the unaware, Shipperd was sacked halfway through his contract despite leading the Sixers to the BBL final in January. Hopes' stint will be one of his first with the Sydney Sixers, as he expressed his excitement about stepping into a new administrative role. He has played 84 ODIs and 12 T20Is for Australia and has also captained Queensland to a Shield victory alongside one-day titles. Hopes Excited For New BBL Role His 16-year first-class career helped him garner massive accolades as he now joins the Sydney Sixers in the hope of building a new legacy for the three-time BBL winners. Sydney Sixers Lose Final After Dominant BBL 2025-26 Campaign Meanwhile, the Sydney Sixers lost the final against Perth Scorchers in the 2025-26 season despite having a strong run throughout the group stage with only four losses to their name.
