Jos Buttler on top of T20 world with The Hundred 2026 special

Manchester Super Giants captain Jos Buttler blasted 51* off just 20 balls against the Welsh Fire in match number 21 of The Hundred 2026 season in Manchester. His innings helped the Super Giants surpass Welsh Fire with nine wickets and 31 balls in hand.

The legendary wicketkeeper-batter also surpassed Kieron Pollard in the process, to become the leading run-maker in the history of T20 cricket. He has so far gathered 14,833 runs in 492 innings at a prolific average of 36.

Pakistan beats West Indies to level series

Pakistan walloped West Indies by eight wickets on Day 4 of the second Test in Port of Spain to level the two-match series 1-1. With West Indies resuming the day at 103-6, Pakistan bowlers Mohammad Ali and Ali Usman wrapped up the hosts for just 117 in their second innings.

Requiring 75 runs to win, Pakistan captain Babar Azam and number three Abdullah Shafique struck 24 runs each to guide the visitors to a comprehensive eight-wicket win

Jaffna Kings storm into LPL 2026 final

Jaffna Kings pipped Galle Gallants by 14 runs in the first qualifier of the LPL 2026 season in Colombo. The Bhanuka Rajapaksa-led franchise has now qualified for the final of the tournament

Notably, the defending champions have now levelled up with IPL’s CSK and Big Bash League champions Perth Scorchers to secure joint-most final appearances in their respective leagues, reaching the title clash five times in the first six editions of the tournament. 

Stephen Fleming approaches CSK’s Mike Hussey for England role

England’s newly appointed Test head coach Stephen Fleming has reportedly approached former CSK colleague Mike Hussey for a potential gig in the England Test set-up. Both cricketers have previously served as members of the CSK coaching staff together. 

As reported by 7Cricket, Fleming has made an “informal approach” to Hussey for becoming the new batting coach of the England national Test side. 

BCCI selectors want Rohit Sharma out of World Cup 2027 plans

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) team management reportedly do not want to keep legendary opener Rohit Sharma in India’s plans for the 2027 ICC World Cup in South Africa next year. 

It is worth noting that several reports also indicated that Sharma was about to announce his retirement from international cricket last month after the series in England. However, BCCI secretory Devajit Saikia later quashed those rumours.
