MI London are set to miss the services of Rashid Khan for part of The Hundred Men’s Competition 2026. This is after the star leg-spinner from Afghanistan has already played four matches of the season, whilst making a positive impact.

So far, with Rashid Khan being a part of the roster, MI London have won three of their five matches and are seated third on the table. With Rashid missing the coming few matches, the franchise has roped in a Pakistan-born talent as a temporary replacement.

Sikandar Raza Replaces Rashid Khan At MI London

On Wednesday afternoon, MI London took to their social media channels to announce the signing of Sikandar Raza as their newest overseas player.

Sikandar Raza was born in Sialkot, Pakistan, before eventually moving to Zimbabwe with his family. While he initially dreamt of serving the Pakistan Air Force, he moved away to Zimbabwe at 16 and represented them in international cricket.

He will be a stop-gap fix for MI London, who are eyeing a spot in the knockout stages of The Men’s Hundred 2026. He will later be replaced by Rashid Khan in the roster again in the final stages of the tournament.

Why Is Rashid Khan Replaced By MI London?

The 27-year-old spinner is a big part of the MI Family across leagues. Apart from MI London, he represents them in MI Cape Town, MI New York and MI Emirates.

However, he will miss some matches of The Hundred 2026 due to international commitments. Afghanistan is currently touring Ireland for a five-match ODI series, to be played from August 5 to August 15 in Bready and Belfast.

The first match of the series was washed out, but Rashid has already joined the team in Ireland and will only be able to rejoin MI London if they reach the final scheduled on August 16.

Playing for MI London since last season, he has picked 19 wickets in 11 matches, including a five-wicket haul in the last outing against the Manchester Super Giants at The Oval. With the bat, the chances have been far-fetched, and he has scored 27 runs across 4 innings for the team.

Sikandar Raza Set To Boost MI London In The Hundred 2026

In recent years, Sikandar Raza has proved to be one of the x-factor T20 players. The 40-year-old all-rounder is a late bloomer at the highest level but continues to impress across leagues.

Having played around the world, he boasts 376 T20 matches under his belt, with 7609 runs at a healthy strike rate of 136.02, while also picking 255 wickets at an economy of 7.37 with his off-spin.

Earlier this year, he led Zimbabwe to the Super 6 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup — a testament to his leadership. While he is not a like-for-like replacement, considering Rashid Khan is one of the best T20 players in the world, Raza is still a valuable addition to the squad aiming for the knockout stages of the competition.
