Veteran England batter Tammy Beaumont has set her retirement date from international cricket. The 35-year-old has confirmed that she will bow out of the international game following England’s upcoming historic one-off Test match against the India Women’s team

The match will also mark Beaumont’s return to international cricket after nearly a year, considering she last played any form of top-level match for England way back in October last year during the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025.

Tammy Beaumont calls time on her 17-year England career

Tammy Beaumont will retire from international cricket after England Women’s historic Test match against India later this week.

The cricketer turned 35 earlier this year and will be playing her first international match for England in the impending Test since the conclusion of the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup.

Beaumont confirmed her retirement announcement just a couple of days prior to the launch of England’s four-day affair against India Women.

Speaking on her decision, the senior wicketkeeper-batter said - “Playing for England for nearly 17 years has been the greatest honor. When I fell in love with playing cricket as a young girl, I barely knew that playing cricket for England was an option and it brings me so much joy to think how many girls and boys have been inspired, this summer especially, and how far the game has come in our country.”

Tammy Beaumont also added that the upcoming Lord’s Test marks the "perfect occasion" for her to hang up her England boots, and confirmed that she will continue to play domestic cricket going forward.

She added "This Test match at Lord’s – our first ever women’s Test at Lord’s – feels like the perfect occasion to sign off on a career that I could never have dreamt would be as special as it has been. I will still be playing domestic cricket, but I'd like to thank all the fans for your amazing support."
