Shreyas Iyer’s India suffer biggest defeat, concede second lowest total
England thrashed India by 125 runs in the third T20I to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Under the leadership of Shreyas Iyer, the Indian cricket team bundled out for just 76 in a chase of 202 to register their second lowest total ever in T20I history.

The 125-run larruping also marked India’s biggest margin of defeat in the format. The outcome extended Iyer’s winless streak to five matches since becoming national skipper.
Afghanistan's Shapoor Zadran passes away
Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran passed away in Delhi after a long illness battle with HLH, a severe immune disorder. The cricketer passed away just a day before his 39th birthday.
Shapoor played 44 ODIs and 36 T20I matches for the Afghanistan cricket team between the years 2009 and 2020. His demise was met with a wave of tributes from several cricketing icons across the world.
Fatima Sana to skip Sri Lanka series for The Hundred 2026
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana will be prioritizing the upcoming Women’s The Hundred 2026 season in England over national duties. The star all-rounder recently received permission from the PCB to participate in England’s T20 league for the Birmingham Phoenix franchise.
Sana, however, will miss the first two matches of the tournament to play the ODI series against Sri Lanka Women’s team away from home.
Ajinkya Rahane backs Sanju Samson over Zimbabwe snub
Seasoned Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has expressed his support for Sanju Samson after the latter was excluded from Team India squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series in Zimbabwe. Taking to his Instagram account, Rahane indirectly questioned the BCCI selection committee, and described Samson as the “hero” of India’s T20 World Cup 2026 win.
It is worth noting that several reports have stated that Samson has been rested, not dropped, from the tour alongside Arshdeep Singh and others.
BCB announce venues for Asia Cup 2026: Reports
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has proposed three venues for next year’s Asia Cup 2027. The venues are Mirpur, Chattogram and Sylhet. As per early updates, the dates of the tournament have been finalized between June 18 and July 4, i.e., just before the 2027 Cricket World Cup in South Africa.
The BCB is also prepared to enhance security for India’s proposed tour of the country in September later this year.
