ECB Selectors React To 15-Member Squad For India Challenge
“We have selected a strong Test squad under the leadership of Nat Sciver-Brunt for what will be another historic few days at Lord’s for women’s cricket. Test cricket is a rare and wonderfully challenging experience in the women’s game and I know how proud our players are to represent England in this format," ECB’s Managing Director of Women’s Cricket Clare Connor said.
“For the 11 women who will get the chance to be the first to enjoy that feeling at Lord’s, it will be a moment to savour,” she added.
Nat Sciver-Brunt Suffers Injury During Women's T20 World Cup 2026
At present, England players are playing the Women's T20 World Cup 2026 and have dealt a heavy blow as their skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of two matches because of injury.
Brunt, who already suffered a tear to her left calf back in April 2026, was handed a massive blow after she again sustained a calf injury during England's Tuesday win over Ireland. Hence, ECB are sweating hard over her fitness and they want the injury to be healed before the crucial stage in T20 World Cup.
India Squad For One-Off Test vs England
On Saturday, May 2, the BCCI unveiled a 15-member squad for India women’s upcoming one-off Test against England. The apex cricket board of India revealed that Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the side and Smriti Mandhana will serve as her deputy.
