For any cricketer, performing at the Lord’s Cricket Ground doesn’t only limit itself to helping their team win, but also to featuring their name on the iconic Lord’s Honours Board.

Established in 1814, Lord’s Cricket Ground is the spiritual heart of the sport and is owned by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), which originally drafted the rules of the game.

Some of the greatest moments in cricketing history have taken place at Lord’s, including the presentation of the Ashes urn to MCC in 1928; Don Bradman’s historic score of 254 for Australia against England in 1930; the Men’s World Cup finals in 1975, 1979, 1983, 1999, and 2019; and the Women’s World Cup finals in 1993 and 2017.

Lord’s was also selected to host the World Test Championship final for the 2023-2025 cycle, played between Australia and South Africa.

The team dressing rooms are adorned with honour boards which mark every century made in a Test match on the grounds, and all instances of a bowler taking five wickets in a Test innings, and 10 wickets in a Test match.

Since 2019, ODIs have also been included on the Honours Boards, opening the door for both men and women. India Women made history by playing their first-ever Test at Lord's in 2026, and Kranti Gaud and Yastika Bhatia became the first Indian women to earn places on the iconic boards with a five-wicket haul and a century, respectively.

No Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, or Rohit Sharma on Lord’s Honours Board

For the unversed, legendary Indian batters, namely Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, or Rohit Sharma, have never scored a Test match century at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Thus, they do not feature on Lord’s Honours Board.

Despite playing multiple Test matches at the “Home of Cricket” over his long career, his highest score in a Lord’s Test was only 37. Notably, he joked in the past that while he missed out on the board, he did score a century in a 1998 exhibition match, even though it didn’t count for the official record.

Moreover, across their appearances at the iconic venue, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma never reached the 100 mark in a Test. Kohli, in particular, had a reputation for getting out for low scores in many of his outings.

It is quite common to find legends absent from these boards. Other all-time greats like Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, and Shane Warne are also not on the list.

Yastika Bhatia & Kranti Gaud make history: First women on Lord’s honours board

Indian cricket players Yastika Bhatia and Kranti Gaud have become the first women ever to feature on the iconic Lord’s honours board. This feat came after the one-off Test against England at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, England, universally recognised as the “Home of Cricket.”

The one-off IND-W vs ENG-W Test marked the ground’s first-ever women’s Test match exactly 50 years after England’s pioneering women’s international there.

Gaud, the 22-year-old pacer from Madhya Pradesh, struck first with a 5/37 in England’s first Innings, bowling them out for 170. A day later, wicketkeeper batter Yastika Bhatia scored 113 runs from 158 balls in India’s second innings, scoring the first women’s Test century at the venue.

Kranti Gaud is now the first woman to claim a Test-wicket haul at the venue, earning a place on the Lord’s honours board. Moreover, Bhatia, despite nursing a knee injury, delivered a phenomenal performance.

Who was the first Indian to feature on the board?

Former fast bowler Mohammad Nissar was the first Indian male to feature on the Lord's Honours Boards, achieving this in 1932 by taking 5 wickets for 93 runs. Almost a century later, Kranti Gaud made history as the first Indian woman to achieve this feat, taking 5 wickets for 37 runs in 2026.

Vinoo Mankad was the first Indian batter to have his name added to the Lord's Honours Board, achieving this by scoring 184 runs against England in 1952. He etched his name in cricketing history by also taking 5 wickets in that same match, making him one of the few players to appear on both the batting and bowling boards.

Following Mankad, 10 other Indian men have scored Test hundreds at the venue, including Sunil Gavaskar's teammate Gundappa Viswanath (1979) and current legends like Rahul Dravid (2011) and KL Rahul (2021).

Wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia became the first-ever woman to score a Test century at the ground (113 runs in July 2026), adding her name to the prestigious list.
