India head coach Gautam Gambhir was seen in a fiery mood during the press conference after the third T20 international between England and India. This game was played on July 7, 2026, at the Trent Bridge ground in Nottingham.
England came into this game with confidence, having won the second T20I in Manchester and having a 1-0 lead in the five-game series. Looking to level the series 1-1, Shreyas Iyer won the toss at Trent Bridge and decided to chase.
Phil Salt gives an amazing start to England
One change was made by India, replacing Ravi Bishnoi with pacer Prince Yadav.
With a stunning 70 in 44 balls, including three sixes and seven fours, Phil Salt led the England innings. Jos Buttler (38) skillfully assisted him, and as England scored 201/7 in 20 overs, Sam Curran smashed 41* runs in 24 balls with 4 fours.
Many anticipated that the three-time T20 World Cup winners, the Indian team, would easily chase the score. But in front of some great bowling from England pacers Josh Tongue and Jofra Archer, the Indian batting collapsed.

The remaining batters failed to reach double digits, with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Ishan Kishan scoring 13 apiece and Abhishek Sharma and Axar Patel scoring 10. Sooryavanshi, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar were all dismissed by Archer's lightning-fast bowling. In the end, his figures were 3/29.
With statistics of 4/28, Tongue was much more spectacular in his second Twenty20 International. Abhishek, Kishan, Harshit Rana, and Shivam Dube were among those he sacked.
India was ultimately dismissed for 76 runs in 11.4 overs, and England's 125-run defeat was the Men in Blue's greatest defeat in T20Is history.
Prince Yadav excels in his first T20I in England
Prince Yadav had made an impactful debut for India against Ireland, taking three wickets in Dublin last month. However, he was dropped in favor of Harshit Rana and the plan to play three spinners on English surfaces.
However, with Ravi Bishnoi taking a hammering in the second T20I, going for 60 runs in his 4 overs, India included Prince in the XI for the 3rd T20I. And he made an immediate impact, clean bowling Jos Buttler, who had scored 36 in 21 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes and gave England a flying start.
Yadav also took account of Harry Brook for 16 runs and finished with bowling figures of 2/30 in four overs.
Gautam Gambhir told the media to calm down when they praised Prince Yadav
At the press conference after the third Twenty20 International against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of Team India, retaliated against a reporter who asked a question concerning pacer Prince Yadav.
After hearing plaudits for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) player, the former left-handed batter advised the writer not to "jump the gun." The 30-year-old's ease with international cricket, according to a reporter, is impressive.
“It’s just 2 games. Don’t jump the gun. I think he has a lot to improve, and I think that’s where we need to get better as well. He started off his T20 career really well, especially today, in these conditions against this batting lineup; obviously, he put his hands up and performed phenomenally well. But he has a lot to improve as well,” Gambhir said.
The fourth T20I will be played on July 9 in Bristol with India looking to win this game and stay alive in the series. England, on the other hand, will look to win the game and earn a series win over the three-time T20 World champs.
