The much-talked-about trade of Indian star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has once again taken a whole new direction. Notably, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are reportedly closing in on a blockbuster swap deal ahead of the upcoming 2027 IPL season.

The trade will involve Pandya going to the Punjab franchise, with Punjab offering the Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh and wicketkeeper-batter Vishnu Vinod to the Mumbai Indians.

According to Sporstar, Pandya is likely to be all set to join the PBKS as part of the swap deal, and in return the Mumbai Indians will receive Arshdeep Singh and Vishnu Vinod.

The senior management of both the franchises have agreed on the fact that the exchange and have also stated that the official announcements will be made within this week or ahead of the upcoming player retention deadline.

IPL 2027: Hardik Pandya Trade All But Confirmed

A senior Mumbai Indians official initiated the move and moved forward with discussions with

 Ricky Ponting, the newly appointed head coach of Punjab Kings.

Before this trade deal, Pandya was linked to three major IPL franchises, namely the Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

The talks went ahead to a large extent with KKR, but the Kolkata franchise shut down the offer as they did not want to release Harshit Rana, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rinku Singh or Varun Chakravarthy.

If this trade happens, then it will mark a dramatic end to Hardik Pandya's highly controversial second stint with the Mumbai Indians.
