The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen a lot of player trades over the years. These trades have changed the way teams play and have given fans a lot to talk about.

Some of the notable trades in IPL history include the Sanju Samson-Ravindra Jadeja swap and Sam Curran's move to Rajasthan Royals last year.

Now, after the IPL 2026 season, which was won by RCB there are a lot of rumours about player trades. In fact it is said that four IPL franchises might be involved in player exchanges before the next IPL season.

Major Trade Rumours After IPL 2026

At present, one of the biggest rumours involves Rishabh Pant. According to Cricbuzz reports, Pant could return to Delhi Capitals (DC), the franchise where he spent most of his IPL career. In exchange, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are believed to be interested in bringing Kuldeep Yadav into their squad.

Meanwhile, another major story has grabbed the attention of fans. According to Rev Sportz, Hardik Pandya and Yashasvi Jaiswal could be involved in a direct swap between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). If the deal goes through, it would become one of the most historic trades in IPL history.

What Is The IPL Trade Window?

For those who may not know, the IPL trade window works like a transfer market. It allows franchises to exchange players before the auction takes place. As a result, all 10 IPL teams get an opportunity to strengthen their squads according to their requirements.

Moreover, IPL franchises can release players who no longer fit their plans and bring in new players who can contribute better to the team's strategy.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that there are two phases of the IPL trade window.

The first phase begins seven days after the IPL season ends and remains open until seven days before the player auction. This gives teams an opportunity to trade players and adjust their squads ahead of the auction.

Meanwhile, the second phase starts immediately after the auction concludes and continues until 30 days before the start of the next IPL season.
