With the dates for the IPL 2027 mini auctions out, the buzz around the next season of the toughest twenty is already peaking, as it always does. Two massive trades have already been officiated, and the buzz around the Hardik Pandya trade is back on.

Hardik Pandya, a product of the Mumbai Indians, switched to the Gujarat Titans in between before returning to MI to lead them for three seasons between IPL 2024 and IPL 2026. However, his return didn't go well for the five-time champions.

MI in talks with 3 franchises over Hardik Pandya trade, announcement out soon

According to Gaurav Gupta of the Times of India, the talks on a Hardik Pandya trade are back on, with the Mumbai Indians discussing a potential deal with three different franchises.

However, the names of Pandya's potential new IPL home haven't been hinted at.

If reports are to be believed, the announcement of the high-profile trade will be made by the November start.

"According to reliable sources, there are three franchises in hot pursuit with Mumbai Indians for trading Hardik Pandya with them. The final decision, will, of course, be with MI..likely announcement of this high-profile trade could be at start of November last," the journalist tweeted.

Mumbai Indians to look back at Rohit Sharma after Hardik Pandya trade?

If MI lets go of Hardik Pandya, they will not only lose an excellent all-rounder but also lose their captain for IPL 2027.

That said, they are not short on options, with two T20 World Cup-winning captains in their side, alongside the current Indian T20I vice-captain.

However, it is understood that the five-time champions may look to move back to Rohit Sharma before transitioning ahead of the next IPL cycle from 2028 to 2030.

Last season, in the absence of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav captained MI in a couple of games, while Jasprit Bumrah summed up the season as skipper.

Nevertheless, they had a terrible season in IPL 2026, finishing in the penultimate position, with just four victories in 14 matches.
