Another season has come and gone, and Delhi Capitals are still searching for their first IPL title. Nineteen seasons into the tournament's history, the franchise remains trophyless despite assembling what looked like one of the strongest squads on paper heading into IPL 2026.
Delhi Capitals started the IPL 2026 campaign in promising fashion, winning their opening two matches and raising hopes of a playoffs push. However, a disastrous run of five defeats in their next six games left them playing catch-up for most of the season.
The Capitals did win their final three league-stage matches to finish sixth with seven victories and 14 points. While they remained mathematically alive until the final day, captain Axar Patel admitted their playoffs hopes had effectively faded much earlier.
Inconsistent performances with both bat and ball, along with a few questionable management decisions, contributed to another disappointing campaign. With IPL 2026 now over, it's time to rate every Delhi Capitals player's season.
