In the ongoing IPL 2026 match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi registered a rare failure after the 15-year-old fell prey to Kyle Jamieson. Notably, the southpaw failed to read the yorker and saw his furniture rattled.

Sooryavanshi returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 (2). What followed were ugly scenes as Kyle Jamieson was pumped up and got too close to the kid while celebrating the wicket.

Kyle Jamieson Gets Too Close To Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

On the 5th ball of the 2nd over, Kyle Jamieson bowled a brilliant yorker, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi failed to get his bat down on time. The Kiwi seamer was impressed by his delivery as he was hit for a four on the previous delivery.

Jamieson went over with his celebration, and the 31-year-old got too close to Sooryavanshi’s face while celebrating. He mocked the 15-year-old and it has not gone well among the fans.

Will BCCI Take Action On Kyle Jamieson?

Notably, the bowlers are allowed to celebrate a dismissal, but the BCCI bars them from coming too close to the batter.However, in this case, it did appear that Kyle Jamieson came quite close to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, almost intimidating him after the wicket.

Key ICC Code of Conduct Provisions (Article 2.5): It deals with "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match".

What is Prohibited: Excessive celebrations directed at a dismissed batter, including screaming in their face, running directly towards them, or pointing/gesturing toward the pavilion.

What is Allowed: The ICC does not prohibit celebrations, but requires they be done in an appropriate fashion without targeting or antagonizing the batter.

Fans Slam Kyle Jamieson For His Celebration

As mentioned above, Kyle Jamieson's celebration was not celebrated by the internet and fans slammed the Kiwi seamer for threating and mocking a 15-year-old kid. Here are some of the reactions.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Off To Brilliant Start In IPL 2026

Despite the failed knock against Delhi Capitals, the 15-year-old is off to a brilliant start in IPL 2026. The Rajasthan Royals' opener has already scored 404 runs in 10 innings, averaging 40.40.

For the unversed, Sooryavanshi has failed only twice in the tournament this year. He failed to get off the mark against SRH and now only 4 (2) against Delhi Capitals. Also, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is the fastest player to get off to 400 runs in an IPL season.

Talking about the ongoing match, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel have got off to a good partnership and put RR to 92/2 after 10.1 overs.
