Australia Women's team won their seventh title in the Women's T20 World Cup, as they brought their best game against England Women in the final at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday.

The Kangaroos restricted the hosts to 150/4, with Nat Sciver-Brunt scoring a fighting half-century. However, the Aussies came into the chase with a positive intent.

Although they lost Georgia Voll early on, Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield batted in gung-ho fashion as England could never pose a challenge in front of the duo.

Beth Mooney surprases Meg Lanning in elite list

The 23-year-old Phoebe Litchfield was dismissed two runs short of a well-deserved half-century, but her partner Beth Mooney never dropped her punishing act. Not only did she score 64 runs, but she was the mainstay for Australia in London.

In the process, Mooney went past her former captain, Meg Lanning, in terms of most runs in Women’s T20 World Cup knockout games. Notably, the wicketkeeper is just the second batter with 400-plus runs in T20 WC knockouts.

The next on the list after Mooney and Lanning is another Australian legend, Alyssa Healy, with 299 runs. Moreover, the South African captain Laura Wolvaardt and English skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt are the only non-Aussies in the top five of the elite list.

Most Runs in Women’s T20 WC Knockouts

  • 424 – Beth Mooney (Australia)
  • 407 – Meg Lanning (Australia)
  • 299 – Alyssa Healy (Australia)
  • 247 – Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa)
  • 235 – Nat Sciver-Brunt (England)

Beth Mooney becomes rarest of rares with 64 vs ENG

Beth Mooney broke multiple records on the night of the Women's T20 World Cup 2026 final against England. As the left-handed opener slammed a half-century, it was her third successive fifty in T20 WC finals.

She started the streak against India Women back, scoring 78 not out in 2020 at the MCG, before carrying it on during 74* vs the Proteas Women in 2023 at Cape Town. Against England, she was dismissed on 64 but carried her brilliant habit of scoring massive runs in big-ticket matches.

  • 2020 - 78* versus India
  • 2023 - 74* versus South Africa
  • 2026 - 64 versus England

Notably, no player in history has more fifty-plus scores in T20 World Cup finals than Beth Mooney. She ended her campaign with 238 runs in seven innings with a strike rate of 142.51.

Australia aced! Seventh T20I title for Team Unbeatables

For Australia, Sophie Molineux's captaincy was at its best, as she never allowed the unbeaten England to take a sigh of relief from the ball one. Although she just snapped four wickets with the ball, they didn’t allow the hosts to put a massive total on the board.

In the chase of 151 runs, Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield did the major lifting with a grand partnership of 100 runs for the second wicket. Even though the Kangaroos faced an anticlimax by losing both the set-batters in a jiffy, they bagged a gigantic seven-wicket victory with 17 deliveries to spare.

As a result, they now have seven T20 World Cup titles to go with as many triumphs in the ODI format.
