As India lost the second T20I to England at Manchester, Ravi Bishnoi emerged as the villain after the hosts cruised past the target of 191 runs in just 19 overs.

Jacob Bethell played a top knock in the chase, while the English captain Harry Brook also contributed to the victory on Saturday evening. The game was going neck-to-neck until Bishnoi bowled the 17th over of the England innings, leaking as many as 29 runs in it.

The 25-year-old Rajasthan spinner bowled the costliest spell ever bowled by an Indian in a T20I affair, as he gave away 60 runs in four overs. During his off day at the office, he delivered three no-balls, two of which were side no-balls.

As India would need to notch up to win in a do-or-die game at Nottingham, the team management will likely bench the leg-spinner. Moreover, there has been talk on social media about dropping Ravi Bishnoi from the Indian T20I squad.

Although we are not in a position to comment on his place, in this article, we will discuss three spinners who could replace Ravi Bishnoi if the selectors decide to drop him.

Three Indian spinners who can replace Ravi Bishnoi

Yash Punja

The lanky Yash Punja was among the finds of the IPL 2026. For the masses, he has been unearthed by Rajasthan Royals, but for those who know, Punja has risen through the ranks via Karnataka's elite T20 tournament, Maharaja Trophy.

At 6 feet 5 inches, the Karnataka leggie has a sharp weapon of googly up his sleeve, and he never backs away from flighting the ball up. Unlike Ravi Bishnoi, Punja has great control, which is why he replaced the 25-year-old spinner in Rajasthan’s playing XI during the business end of the tournament.

Shivang Kumar

Hailing from Madhya Pradesh, the wily Shivang Kumar is a rarity in India's domestic circuit as he bowls left-arm wrist spin. The 24-year-old delivered gold for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the recently concluded IPL season, where he was used as an attacking option alongside Harsh Dubey.

In IPL 2026, Kumar also showcased his prowess with the bat, which he backed up in the MP T20 League. In that competition, he racked up 194 runs at a strike rate close to 180, with his 8 wickets in seven innings.

With Kuldeep Yadav already there, Shivang Kumar can also be looked at as a potent weapon for Team India.

Suyash Sharma

Suyash Sharma is one of the rare players to win three back-to-back titles, first with KKR in 2024 and then two triumphs with RCB. At Kolkata, he remained hidden behind Varun Chakaravarthy and Sunil Narine; however, he got to demonstrate his real art for RCB

Even though Sharma has only bagged 27 wickets in 37 innings for RCB, the right-arm leg-spinner from Delhi has shown he knows how to pick wickets. Overall, he has taken 65 wickets at an average of 28.24 with an ER of 7.93, making him a wicket-taker in today’s day and age.

Moreover, Suyash will be a like-to-like replacement for Ravi Bishnoi.
