Virat Kohli almost barged into Tim David in IPL 2026 final. PC-screengrab
"One felt nice, we did it twice" - This became Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)'s mojo as they broke multiple records by lifting back-to-back IPL titles. Virat Kohli was the star performer on the night of the final, as the Chasemaster demolished the Gujarat Titans (GT) with an unbeaten 75.
Not only with the bat, but Kohli was hyperactive on the field as well. He brought the VK-esque energy to the field, as the RCB bundled out the home team for 155/8.
However, during the 18th over of the first innings, the RCB star almost got himself injured while fielding in the deep.
As Washington Sundar flicked the ball behind square leg, Kohli and Tim David in the deep run towards each to save the boundary. However, the former missed it despite diving around, and almost barged into the big Australian hitter.

A netizen said, "Yeh gira Virat ke upar (He was the one who fell on Virat)". Then a few, jokingly, corrected the mistake as well.

Why do Virat Kohli fans barge into player's comment section?
Virat Kohli's fans losing their cool has become an ordinary practice, which began with a joke during the Champions Trophy 2025, when the star batter tried to flip a plastic water bottle but failed. Later, some of his fans went to the brand's social media to mock it.
Since then, whenever some episode occurs against Kohli, his admirers go all guns blazing against the opponent.
Recently, an infamous incident happened between the RCB opener and Travis Head, which led to his family and friends facing trolls. Something similar unfolded against Jason Holder, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, who faced backlash.
Writer's take on trolling, bullying
Virat Kohli enjoys an immense following in India, where he is viewed as a demigod. His social media presence is unparalleled by any other Indian, boasting a massive 274 million followers on Instagram, 68.2 million on X, and 52 million on Facebook.
Despite the deep admiration for the iconic batter, it is essential for supporters to recognize the distinction between lighthearted mocking and harmful trolling. There is absolutely no justification for using abusive language or involving a person’s family in such online behavior.
However, as AI-driven cyber security continues to advance, individuals who engage in online trolling will find it increasingly difficult to avoid the consequences of their actions.
