RCB win IPL 2026, script history

RCB won the IPL 2026 title by defeating Gujarat Titans at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Chasing 156 runs for a win, the defending champions blazed past their target with five wickets and two overs to spare.

The outcome marked RCB’s only second IPL victory, and their second in succession as the franchise became only the third side in IPL history to clinch successive trophies, joining Mumbai Indians and CSK for the huge record.

Virat Kohli slaps fastest IPL half-century

RCB legend and prolific opener Virat Kohli blasted 75* runs from just 42 balls against the Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final. The seasoned pro smeared nine cracking boundaries and three huge sixes in Ahmedabad.

The innings marked the 68th half-century of Kohli’s IPL career, and his 77th score of fifty or more in the tournament. The cricketer raced to his fifty from just 25 balls, thus scripting the fastest fifty of his decorated IPL journey.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi youngest to win Orange Cap

Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi won the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ of the IPL 2026 season. The cap was confirmed for the youngster after the early fall of Gujarat Titans openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan in the final.

In doing so, Sooryavanshi also became the youngest cricketer in IPL history to bag the Orange Cap, at the age of just 15. He aggregated 776 runs in just 16 innings of the tournament at a prolific average of 48.50.

Ruturaj Gaikwad replaces Riyan Parag as India A captain

The BCCI has appointed CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad as the new captain of the India A squad. The cricketer will be replacing Rajasthan Royals star Riyan Parag, who has been ruled out of the upcoming India A tri-series in Sri Lanka owing to an injury.

The star-studded India A team also features Tilak Varma as vice-captain, Vaibhav Sooryvanshi, Punjab Kings openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh.

Nepal’s Kushal Bhurtel smacks six sixes in an over

Prolific Nepal opener Kushal Bhurtel blasted 129 runs off just 43 balls against China in an Asian Games Men’s Qualifier T20 match at the Singapore National Cricket Ground in Singapore. The 29-year-old launched five boundaries and 16 huge sixes in his innings, including six off one over to join Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard and others for a historic record.

Nepal mounted 313-2 off 20 overs in the game to script a huge 221-run win in their Group A match.
