According to the international cricket calendar, India’s next assignments begin shortly after the IPL 2026 final, with preparations for multi-format series including Tests, ODIs, and T20Is across various overseas tours and home fixtures.

Afghanistan Tour of India 2026

One of the year’s most high-profile series, India tours England for eight white-ball matches. It will be crucial for squad testing, while also marking the real start of preparation for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
India Tour of Zimbabwe 2026

India Tour of Sri Lanka 2026

India tour of Afghanistan 2026
- Date- 13 September to 19 September

As per a latest report from Times of India, for the 1st time, the Afghanistan Cricket Board will host India for a 3-match T20I series. The interesting part is that India's Arun Jaitley Stadium will act as the host venue. The 3 T20Is are due to be played on September 13, September 16, and September 19, pending BCCI confirmation.
Asian Games 2026
- Date - 17 September to 3 October
Cricket is officially part of the 2026 Asian Games. India will likely send a strong T20I squad, aiming to defend their gold medal, while the tournament could also test a potential new T20I captain.
West Indies Tour of India 2026
- Date - 27 September to 17 October

India tour of New Zealand 2026
Date- 22 October to 01 December
Fixtures- 5 T20Is, 5 ODIs, and 2 Tests
New Zealand Cricket, on June 3rd, announced dates for a blockbuster India series at home. The Men in Blue will be travelling to one of the most serene countries of the world for 5 T20Is, followed by a 5-match ODI series, and 2-match Test series.
Interestingly, this will be the 1st 5-match ODI series that team India will be a part of since the Australia tour of India 2019. Fans will get a chance to watch more of their favourite stars including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who will be on their last lap of international career leading to the 2027 World Cup.
Sri Lanka Tour of India 2026

Australia Tour of India 2026
- Date - 21 January to 3 March

The highlight of India’s extended calendar before IPL 2027 is the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at home against Australia. This five-match Test series is crucial for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 cycle, providing India a key opportunity to secure maximum points on home soil.
