Chasing a steep 196 to win at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, Indian opener Sanju Samson clattered 12 boundaries and four huge sixes to blast 97* off just 50 deliveries. Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube also chipped in with quick runs in the backend of the innings after the early dismissals of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan.

Earlier, West Indies batted first and mounted 195-4 in 20 overs. Roston Chase top-scored in the high-scoring innings through his fiery 25-ball 40.
Shimron Hetmyer beats Sahibzada Farhan for huge world record
Shimron Hetmyer belted 27 runs off just 12 balls with a boundary and two huge sixes against India in match 52 of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Through the course of his fiery top-order cameo, Hetmyer also extended his sixes tally to 19 maximums in the ongoing tournament.
The hard-hitting West Indies batter has now surpassed Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan in terms of launching the highest number of sixes in a single edition of the showpiece event. In the same 2026 spectacle, Farhan whacked 18 sixes in six innings prior to Pakistan’s elimination.
Lungi Ngidi becomes South Africa’s most successful T20I bowler
Lungi Ngidi picked up a wicket against Zimbabwe in South Africa’s final Super 8 match of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Delhi. Dismissing Ryan Burl in his four-over spell, Ngidi also became South Africa’s most successful bowler of all time in T20I cricket. He surpassed ace spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, who has claimed 89 wickets in just 70 innings so far at a bowling average of 20.89.
As of now, Lungi Ngidi is sitting on a pile of 90 wickets from 63 T20I matches at a bowling average of 20.48 and with an economy rate of 8.59.
Alyssa Healy crushes India Women, bows out of ODIs in style
Australia captain Alyssa Healy hammered down 158 runs off just 98 balls with 27 boundaries and two huge sixes against India Women in the third ODI of the series in Hobart. Healy’s thunderous knock helped her seal a slew of some illustrious batting records, and also helped Australia wallop India Women by 185 runs to seal the ODI series 3-0.
The innings marked her eighth ODI century, as the legendary outbound opener bowed out of ODI cricket in style. Her teammate Beth Mooney also cracked a scintillating hundred in the same game as the two cricketers helped Australia mount 409-7 from 50 overs.
MS Dhoni, Gaikwad train for CSK as IPL 2026 beckons
MS Dhoni and Ruturaj Gaikwad among several other CSK members engaged themselves in an intense training session ahead of the upcoming IPL 2026 season. Both Dhoni and captain Gaikwad were spotted smashing bowlers all over the park during their net’s routine. The two cricketers are currently part of CSK’s pre-season camp as the franchise aims to clinch its first IPL silverware since the 2023 edition of the tournament.
