Babar Azam’s stocks have risen significantly after an absolutely amazing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2026). Azam led the Peshawar Zalmi to the PSL 2026 title and led the team from the front with a stupendous performance with the bat.
Before this, Babar Azam had a very poor outing in the Big Bash League (BBL 2025-26) season for the Sydney Sixers and failed miserably in the T20 World Cup 2026 as well for Pakistan. But things turned around massively for Babar Azam in PSL 2026, despite not getting a solid start at the beginning.
Babar Azam shines in PSL 2026
Babar Azam carried the Peshawar Zalmi batting throughout the PSL 2026 season. He hammered two centuries and 3 fifties in 11 games, scoring a record equaling 588 runs at an average of 73.50 and a strike rate of 145.90. His highest score was 103.
Overall, Babar has 4380 runs in 111 PSL games with a strike rate of 129.70 and 4 centuries and 39 fifties to his name and the best score of 115.
Peshawar Zalmi defeated Hyderabad Kingsmen in the final of the PSL 2026 in Lahore on May 3 in a one-sided encounter to earn their second Pakistan Super League title. Babar Azam won the best batter of the PSL 2026 award.

Caribbean Premier League 2026 season to be held from August 2026
The 14th edition of the Caribbean Premier League is set to begin in August this year, running from August 7 to September 20, 2026. Seven franchises are set to compete for the title of the CPL 2026 trophy.
The Jamaica Kingsmen are set to be captained by Rovman Powell and will get the first three draft picks, where only Jamaican players may be chosen; however, only one player from current teams may be chosen.

Meanwhile, in a huge development, Fawad Sarwar, owner of the Jamaica Kingsmen franchise in the Caribbean Premier League, has stated that the franchise is interested in bidding for Babar Azam if the brilliant Pakistani batter is willing to enter the upcoming CPL draft.
“If Babar Azam is available for the CPL, we’ll definitely look to sign him. A lot of fans would love to see Babar in Caribbean conditions, and with CPL franchises already showing interest, it could become one of the biggest talking points this season,” Sarwar said in a podcast.
Babar Azam has played only one season in the Caribbean Premier League, in 2017. He turned out for Guyana Amazon Warriors and played 5 matches, scoring 73 runs with a strike rate of 83.15 and a best score of 23 runs.
Babar Azam’s envious record in T20 cricket
One of the finest batters of his generation and widely considered one of the greatest batters Pakistan has ever produced, Babar Azam is a force in T20 cricket. He has scored 12493 runs in 359 T20 matches, with a strike rate of 129.04 and an average of 42.78. He has hit 13 centuries and 101 fifties with the highest score of 122 runs. He has hit 1305 fours and 239 sixes in all T20s.
