In a recent announcement, the Scotland Women's Cricket Team have revealed their squad for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 as they prepare to feature in the mega event for the second successive time.
The squad will once again be led by Kathryn Bryce after Scotland secured qualification for the tournament in England through the global qualifiers.
Scotland Manage To Qualify For The T20 World Cup 2026
For the unaware, Scotland progressed to the Super Six stage after finishing second in Group B behind the Netherlands.
Despite suffering a defeat against Bangladesh, the side managed crucial wins over Ireland and the USA in the Super Six stage and eventually sealed a Women’s T20 World Cup berth with a third-place finish.

In 2024, although Scotland were debutants in the tournament, their campaign proved to be difficult. They were grouped alongside West Indies, South Africa, England, and Bangladesh but failed to register a single victory in the four matches they played.
Nevertheless, they are coming into the tournament with momentum after impressive performances in the Global Qualifiers and the ICC Women’s Emerging Nations Trophy hosted in Bangkok in 2025.
Bryce To Lead Mixed Troop
Kathryn Bryce, the veteran all-rounder, will lead the side with her experience and match-winning abilities. She has played 10 Women’s ODI matches and 56 T20I games, scoring 1395 runs in the shortest format while also picking up 60 wickets during those appearances.
The squad will also feature players like Chloe Abel, Sarah Bryce, and Darcey Carter, while preparations will include a home tri-series against Bangladesh and the Netherlands in Edinburgh.
Sarah, Kathryn Bryce’s younger sister, will serve as the vice-captain of the squad, while the wicketkeeping department will feature three quality options, including Sarah, Ailsa Lister, and Pippa Sproul.
Veterans And Fresh Faces In The Mix
Kirstie Gordon will return to the squad after previously representing England before committing her international future to Scotland in late 2025.
Emerging talents like Gabriella Fontenla, Maisie Maceira, and Pippa Sproul were key members of the Under-19 squad before being fast-tracked into the senior national setup.
Abtaha Maqsood will lead the spin attack for the side. She has more than 70 international caps for Scotland and remains one of the team’s most dependable bowlers.

Scotland To Start T20 World Cup 2026 Journey From June 13
Scotland Women will begin their group-stage campaign against Ireland before taking on West Indies, England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.
Their opening fixture is scheduled for June 13, while the group-stage campaign will conclude against Sri Lanka Women on June 26.
The semi-finals and final stages of the tournament will begin on June 30, with the final set to be played at Lord's Cricket Ground on July 5, 2026.
