Player Bio

Will Jacks was attracted to cricket from a very young age and went on to play for Surrey at all levels, starting from U-9s, all the way to the England U-19 side and ECB XI. Soon after making his international debut, Jacks bagged the reputation of a reliable T20 agent by playing in leagues across the world.

A spin bowling all-rounder who has a great stock ball, Jack also has the ability to clear the fence with ease. He rose to prominence in a game against Lancashire in 2017 when the all-rounder smashed a 25-ball hundred.

He continued his reputation as a clean hitter of the ball when the Surrey-based cricketer scored a brilliant ton against India in a U-19 Test in 2017, and as a result, was immediately drafted into the England squad for the 2018 U-19 World Cup.

The all-rounder made his List-A debut for Somerset in the 2018 Royal London ODI Cup. He scored a crucial 121 against a good Gloucestershire side and announced his arrival in some style.

Jack's reputation soared even higher during the inaugural season of The Hundred, where he turned out for the Oval Invincibles. He ended the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer, amassing 282 runs at 31.3 and an astonishing strike rate of 177. His standout moment came in the high-pressure London derby against London Spirit, where he blasted an unforgettable 70 not out from just 31 balls, a knock full of audacious strokeplay and clean hitting that encapsulated his fearless brand of cricket.

By the end of the 2021 season, Will Jacks had firmly established himself as one of England’s most exciting young white-ball talents—a clean striker of the ball with the versatility to contribute with the ball.

In July 2022, during England's home summer, Jacks received his maiden Test squad call-up as part of the early selections under the new Stokes-McCullum regime. Though he didn’t debut that season, his inclusion signalled the trust the management placed in his all-around potential and attacking mindset.

In September 2022, during England’s T20I tour of Pakistan, Jacks made his debut in the sixth T20I at Lahore. Opening the batting, he wasted no time announcing himself on the international stage—smashing 40 off 22 balls, filled with clean hitting and intent that perfectly matched England’s T20 template.

Just weeks later, Jacks also broke into the ODI side, debuting against Bangladesh in October 2022. He contributed 27 runs off 22 balls and showcased his versatility by bowling five overs of smart off-spin, giving England a handy dual-threat option.

In January 2023, the Englishman made a huge impression in the inaugural SA20 league, representing the Pretoria Capitals. He piled on 270 runs at a staggering strike rate of 190, proving to be a consistent match-winner at the top of the order. His aggressive starts and confident strokeplay earned him two Player of the Match awards, further cementing his reputation as one of the brightest T20 batting prospects on the global circuit.

His biggest moment yet came in March 2023, when he finally earned his Test debut during England’s tour of Pakistan. Handed the cap in Rawalpindi, Jacks seized the moment with a spectacular all-round performance. He contributed with a five-wicket haul in the first innings.

Later in 2024, Jacks made his much-anticipated debut in the IPL, having been picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a hefty INR 3.2 crore. In 8 matches, he accumulated 230 runs, with a standout knock of 100* off just 41 balls against the Gujarat Titans.

For the IPL 2025, Will Jacks was released by the RCB, but only to find a new home with the Mumbai Indians.
