Will Jacks started off as a spin bowler with the ability to clear the fence with ease, but soon he became a quality all-rounder for England.
He continued his reputation as a clean hitter of the ball when the Surrey-based cricketer scored a brilliant ton against India in a U-19 Test in 2017, and as a result, was immediately drafted into the England squad for the 2018 U-19 World Cup.
Will Jacks Franchise Career
Will Jack's reputation soared even higher during the inaugural season of The Hundred, where he turned out for the Oval Invincibles. He ended the tournament as the second-highest run-scorer.
By the end of the 2021 season, Jacks had firmly established himself as one of England’s most exciting young white-ball talents—a clean striker of the ball with the versatility to contribute with the ball.
In July 2022, during England's home summer, Jacks received his maiden Test squad call-up as part of the early selections under the Bazball regime.
Moreover, in January 2023, the Englishman made a huge impression in the inaugural SA20 league, representing the Pretoria Capitals. He piled on 270 runs at a staggering strike rate of 190, proving to be a consistent match-winner at the top of the order.
Later in 2024, Jacks made his much-anticipated debut in the IPL, having been picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a hefty INR 3.2 crore. In 8 matches, he accumulated 230 runs, with a standout knock of 100* off just 41 balls against the Gujarat Titans.
For the IPL 2025, Will Jacks was released by the RCB, but only to find a new home with the Mumbai Indians. He was retained by MI for IPL 2026 after a brilliant season as an all-rounder.
Will Jacks T20I career
On September 23, 2022, Will Jacks made his debut during the T20I tour of Pakistan. Opening the batting, he wasted no time announcing himself on the international stage—smashing 40 off 22 balls, filled with clean hitting and intent that perfectly matched England’s T20 template.
However, it took Jacks 4 years to achieve his maiden T20I fifty. The batter achieved the career milestone against Italy in the 2026 T20 World Cup, completing it in just 21 balls. With this, he set a new record for the fastest fifty by an England player in T20 World Cup history.
Will Jacks ODI career
Just weeks after his T20I debut, Will Jacks also broke into the ODI side, debuting against Bangladesh on March 1, 2023. He contributed 26 runs off 31 balls and showcased his versatility by bowling five overs of smart off-spin, giving England a handy dual-threat option.
On December 07, 2023, the English batter Will Jacks shone with a solid 73-run knock off 72 balls against the West Indies. Jacks registered his second ODI fifty as England chased down the score in 32.5 overs.
Will Jacks Test career
Will Jacks’ biggest moment yet came on December 1, 2022, when he finally earned his Test debut during England’s tour of Pakistan. Handed the cap in Rawalpindi, Jacks seized the moment with a spectacular all-round performance. He contributed with a five-wicket haul in the first innings.
As a batting all-rounder, he made an immediate impact by taking 6-161 in the first innings of that match, becoming the first England debutant spinner since 1993 to take a five-wicket haul.
