On Sunday evening, Pakistan and England played an ODI classic at Lahore, when the visitors chased down a sub-par total with just one wicket in hand, thanks to number eight batter Shadab Khan smashing an unbeaten ton.

Shadab stitched an emphatic 89*-run stand with Haris Rauf for the last wicket, where the latter scored just seven runs, while the all-rounder hit 81 out of them.

Haris Rauf charges at Will Jacks during an on-field spat in PAK vs ENG

In the tricky chase of 242 runs, when Pakistan were almost in touching distance of the finishing line, an episode involving Haris Rauf surfaced.

On the final delivery of the 46th over, Sam Curran bowled a slower bouncer to Shadab, which the batter left thinking it would be a wide, but the square leg umpire signalled otherwise.

Moments after that, Haris was seen charging at Will Jacks, who was standing at short mid-wicket. The umpire and Joe Root intervened, preventing the two batters from getting into an altercation.

Although the reason behind the spat is unclear, the on-air commentators stated Jacks may have said something which triggered the Pakistani speedster. Even after the game, the two had an ellaborated chat.

Nevertheless, a couple of deliveries later, Pakistan cruised home, with Haris smashing the winning boundary.

Haris Rauf could face ICC sanctions again after fight with Will Jacks

The match referee hasn’t fined either Haris Rauf or Will Jacks yet, but the Pakistani bowler has a history of facing sanctions from the ICC for his over-the-line on-field behaviour.

Back in the 2025 Asia Cup, Haris came under the scrutiny twice, both during the matches against India, where his animated celebration amid the geopolitical tensions allowed the apex council to intervene.

He received a 30% fine and two demerit points once, along with Suryakumar Yadav and Sahibzada Farhan, who also faced sanctions. Later, he received two more demerit points and a 50% fine, resulting in a two-match suspension.

Since he was suspended once, Haris may not face another suspension now, but he could get a demerit point or two if the match referee thinks so.

Meanwhile, England’s Will Jacks has no active ICC demerit points, as this was his first such episode.

Nevertheless, the Men in Green have won three on three in the Tri Series in Pakistan, becoming the first team to qualify for the final on October 31.
