Similar to the 1st ODI, Babar Azam once again got off to a brilliant start but failed to convert that into a big score. The right-handed batter was called early on to bat as Pakistan lost a wicket on the first ball of the match.

Babar Azam scored 34 (52), which featured four boundaries. As soon as he looked settled, England brought on spin, which did wonders for them.

Babar Azam Falls To Will Jacks

On the 2nd ball of the 15th over, Will Jacks, who is in fine form, got rid of Babar Azam. Jacks bowled a tempting good-length delivery that turned sharply onto the stumps and rattled the furniture. Babar was shell-shocked and couldn’t believe the mode of dismissal.

Meanwhile, England players were ecstatic, particularly Jacks, who knew that he got the main man out. It was the 2nd time in the series that Babar crossed the 30-run mark but failed to get to his 50.

Babar's Struggles Against Will Jacks

Babar Azam's troubles against spin is not new. However, the right-handed batter has particularly struggled against Will Jacks across formats. The two have locked horns three times and Jacks has got rid of Babar twice.

Jacks has bowled 54 deliveries to Babar and the latter has scored just 49 runs, getting out twice, averaging 24.5 with the bat and a strike-rate of 90.74.

Babar Azam has played 142 ODIs, out of which he has got out to spin on 46 occasions which is 36.5% of his dismissals.

When was the last time Babar scored an ODI hundred?

Babar Azam is going through a tough period as his hunt for century refuses to end. Notably, the right-handed battter slammed 19 ODI tons in just 7 years since making debut in 2016. However, in the last three years, he has just one ODI ton, which came against Sri Lanka in 2025.

Babar is yet to score a ton in 2026 and the former ODI captain wouldn't want to go to 2027 ODI World Cup without a ton under his belt.
