The IPL 2026 is set to begin on March 28, with the defending champions RCB set to take on SRH at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. However, hours before the start of the cash-rich tournament, an amusing video is going viral all over the internet.

The 2008 Indian Premier League winners, Rajasthan Royals, celebrated the birthday of South African batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius after their practice session at their home ground, Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

It is worth noting that Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal did the honour of smashing the cake on the birthday boy’s face in a light-hearted moment in the RR practice camp.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi celebrates 15th birthday, Gives selectors another reason for India selection

On Thursday, Indian cricket’s emerging talent Vaibhav Suryavanshi celebrated his 15th birthday. Born on March 27, 2011, the Bihar-born batter has quickly risen through the ranks, earning attention for his aggressive style and record-breaking performances in the Indian Premier League and at the youth level.

Turning 15, Suryavanshi marks a significant milestone that makes him eligible for international cricket. While the talent and form were already there, the age eligibility brings him a step closer to representing the Indian national cricket team.

It is worth noting that the teenage prodigy has already shown immense confidence beyond his age. When asked about his goals for the upcoming IPL 2026, whether he was targeting the Orange Cap, Suryavanshi joked that he aims to score “2,000-3,000” runs, drawing laughter but reflecting his unbreakable fearlessness.

That being said, speaking at the recently held BCCI Naman Awards, the Indian prodigy emphasised team success over personal milestones. “My goal is to win a trophy for my team,” he said. “That will benefit the franchise and improve my performance.”

Rajasthan Royals enter IPL 2026 with a fresh start

Meanwhile, RR, the winners of the inaugural edition of the lucrative T20 league, are coming fresh off a whopping ₹15,290 crore (approx.) ownership sale, ahead of the IPL 2026. On top of that, with Sanju Samson being traded to CSK, Riyan Parag has been named the skipper for the upcoming season.

On top of that, with a refreshed new jersey, the Rajasthan-based franchise will aim to add another star to their jersey and end a wait of over a decade and a half, bolstered by young prodigies in their squad.

In a significant boost to RR’s title aspirations, former fan favourite Ravindra Jadeja, who was part of the Rajasthan side that clinched the title in 2008, has rejoined the team after a highly successful 12-year stint with CSK.
