IPL 2026 schedule announced after delay

The list of the entire commentary panel of the IPL 2026 season was announced just a day after the BCCI confirmed the entire itinerary of the tournament. Earlier this month, the Indian board had listed the schedule of only the first 20 matches of the competition, and reserved the rest in a bid to avoid conflict with election dates.

As per the complete list, the IPL 2026 season is still on track to launch on March 28 with a match between SRH and defending champions RCB. The tournament will conclude on May 31 with a final match in Bengaluru.

BCCI cancel IPL 2026 opening ceremony

The BCCI has also cancelled the opening ceremony of the IPL 2026 season. In a significant and emotional decision, the board confirmed the same as a mark of respect for the 11 lives lost during the deadly stampede incident that broke out in Bengaluru last year just a day after RCB’s IPL 2025 win.
