PSL 2026: Injury, Withdrawal, and Replacement List (X.com)
With the addition of two new teams for this edition, the Pakistan Super League 2026 will see tough competition between eight teams for the title. The PSL 2026 is set to be played from March 26 to May 3 and, once again, will clash with India’s IPL 2026.
However, only a few days before the start of Pakistan’s premier T20 league, several setbacks have marred the proceedings. That being said, in this article, take a look at the list of players who have pulled out of the PSL 2026 due to IPL 2026 participation and personal reasons or have been ruled out because of injury.
PSL 2026 Injured Players List
1. Hussain Talat: Pakistan all-rounder, Hussain Talat was ruled out of the PSL 2026 season due to a dislocated shoulder injury sustained during the 2nd ODI against Bangladesh in March 2026. The 28-year-old, originally part of the Lahore Qalandars, is expected to be out of the action for 12-14 weeks.
2. Zaman Khan: After a shoulder injury (dislocation of the acromioclavicular joint) sustained during the National T20 Cup, Zaman Khan was ruled out of the PSL 2026 season.
3. Ali Shabbir: Lahore Qalandars dealt with a major blow ahead of the Pakistan Super League 11 as young pacer Ali Shabbir was ruled out due to a fracture. The Under-23 signing has been advised to rest for four to six weeks after being assessed during the camp at the High Performance Centre.
4. Max Bryant: Australian power-hitter Max Bryant has been ruled out of PSL 2026 due to injury. Picked by Islamabad United for PKR 1.95 crore, the Brisbane Heat star previously played for Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2025.
PSL 2026 Injury Replacements
1. Jalat Khan in for Zaman Khan: Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise RawalPindiz named Jalat Khan as an injury replacement for Zaman Khan for the upcoming season. Left-arm pacer comes off a spectacular Pro50 Championship, Zimbabwe’s List A competition, season in Harare.

He grabbed 22 wickets in five matches, the highest among all bowlers in the competition. Moreover, he has taken 25 wickets in 14 T20 games.
2. Saad Masood goes to RawalPindiz: The franchise traded all-rounder Saad Masood to Multan Sultans for an additional PKR 500,000. Saad was initially picked by the previous management of the franchise, then called Sialkot Stallionz, as their pre-auction retention. The franchise paid PKR 8.4 million for the young all-rounder.
3. Usman Khawaja for Laurie Evans: While the reason for Laurie Evans being ruled out of the tournament is unknown, the Pakistan-born Usman Khawaja has been confirmed as his replacement.
4. Maheesh Theekshana: The Kingmen welcomed Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana, adding an experienced spinner with strong T20 records and global league exposure to their squad.
He may be just 25, but he already has a lot of experience in the shortest format of the game. So far, he has played 83 T20Is for Sri Lanka and taken 82 wickets, with an economy rate of 7.08.
5. Kusal Perera: Kusal Perera has joined the Hyderabad Kingsmen franchise for the upcoming PSL 2026 season. It is worth noting that the Kingsmen franchise roped in the 35-year-old back in February during the PSL 2026 auction.
As of now, he is not being considered for the national selection in Sri Lanka, making him available for the entire PSL tournament without needing to undergo a fitness test.
6. Chris Green: Only a day ahead of the start of the season, Chris Green joins Islamabad United as a replacement for Max Bryant.
Who are the players who quit PSL 2026 for IPL 2026?
With the IPL and PSL overlapping in the same window, a number of players have switched from the PSL to the IPL in exchange for bigger contracts.

These players opted for the PSL after being unsold in the IPL auctions. However, they came back to the IPL as injury replacements for existing players.
1. Blessing Muzarabani: After a highly successful T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, Blessing Muzarabani joined Islamabad United to replace Shamar Joseph in PSL 2026. However, the Zimbabwe pacer then moved on to play for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman. He will play for the franchise for a value of ₹9.2 crore.
2. Dasun Shanaka: Despite being picked by the Lahore Qalandars for PSL 2026 for PKR 75 lakhs (₹25.15 lakhs), Dasun Shanaka ditched this contract to play for the Rajasthan Royals for ₹2 crores, as a replacement for the injured Sam Curran. LQ announced Daniel Sams as Shanaka’s replacement.
3. Spencer Johnson: Quetta Gladiators signed Australian fast bowler Spencer Johnson for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League. However, Johnson opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons. Later, he replaced Nathan Ellis at CSK ahead of IPL 2026.
PSL Withdrawn Players List
1. Ottniel Baartman: South African pacer, Baartman has withdrawn from the PSL 2026 season. Earlier, he had signed a contract worth PKR 1.1 crore to play for Hyderabad Kingsmen. According to reports, he is expected to join an IPL team as a replacement player.
2. Jake Fraser-McGurk: Australian middle-order batter Jake Fraser-McGurk has withdrawn from the upcoming PSL 2026 citing personal reasons, starting from March 26. He was about to play for one of the new PSL franchises, Rawalpindiz.
