Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) franchise, on a trail of six successive defeats this IPL 2026 season, has already fallen to the brink of a certain elimination from the playoffs race. Prior to their all-important match against the RCB on Thursday, May 7, the franchise suffered yet another blow, this time in the form of an injury.

In-form fast bowler Mohsin Khan was ruled out of the game as the speedster picked up a niggle, as confirmed by LSG captain Rishabh Pant. One of the rare top-performing players this season from the LSG camp, Mohsin’s absence comes as a massive setback for the struggling franchise.

His injury also sparked a wave of reactions from Indian cricket and LSG fans on social media, with several of them questioning the speedster for maintaining poor fitness levels.

The 27-year-old picked up at least one wicket in each of his first five appearances this IPL 2026 season for the LSG franchise. With 10 wickets in just five innings of the tournament, the cricketer is maintaining an impressive bowling average of 14.90.
