Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was gone early in RR vs LSG clash [Source: X]
Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was beaten left, right, and centre after his side came out to bat first against Lucknow Super Giants in the 32nd match of IPL 2026.
As Royals opened in the RR vs LSG clash, they were not at their usual explosive best, with Sooryavanshi, the aggressor for the team, dismissed for just 8 runs off 11 deliveries by Mohsin Khan.
Khan toyed with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in his over, where he bowled a maiden and picked up a wicket on the final delivery of the fourth over of the night. As Sooryavanshi took guard in that over, Mohsin Khan outfoxed him with clever variations, and the internet was left stunned by the pacer’s skill.
How Mohsin Khan Toyed With Sooryavanshi
On the first delivery of the fourth over, when Mohsin replaced Prince Yadav in the powerplay attack, a slip was in place. The first ball, at 140 kph, was pushed to short third man by Sooryavanshi for a dot.
The second delivery saw him connect, but it went straight to a fielder. The third and fourth deliveries were directed around the off and leg side, and though Vaibhav Sooryavanshi managed to play them, they again found fielders.
The penultimate delivery was a good-length ball around the fourth stump, angling in before straightening. Sooryavanshi attempted to guide it to third man but was beaten on the outside edge, giving Mohsin a clear psychological edge.

Frustrated after a string of dot balls, Sooryavanshi went for a risky shot on the final delivery of the over. He attempted to strike a good-length ball over the top but lost his shape, and the bat turned in his hands, resulting in a mistimed shot that went high in the air.
Digvesh Singh Rathi, positioned at extra cover, took a fine catch to dismiss the Rajasthan Royals batter. Significantly, he became the first to bowl a maiden over to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the IPL.
Mohsin Khan’s impressive over had the internet talking, especially given Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s reputation as a destructive young talent capable of breaking records.
Internet Showers Praise On Mohsin Khan
Netizens were quick to praise Khan, who has been part of the Lucknow Super Giants setup since his debut in 2022. In IPL 2026 so far, he has played three matches, maintaining an economy rate of 6.90 and a strike rate of 20.00, with three wickets to his name.

While he was not particularly effective against Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings earlier, this performance signals a return to form for LSG, who already boast a strong bowling unit featuring names like Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav.

Rajasthan Royals In Dire State After Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Horror
Meanwhile, in the RR vs LSG clash, Rajasthan Royals suffered early setbacks, losing three key wickets inside the powerplay, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi, and Dhruv Jurel.
