New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has unveiled a strong New Zealand squad for the upcoming away Tests against Ireland and England. Several New Zealand-based IPL stars will be re-joining the national line-up following their hectic 2026 season in India.

As per the announcement, the selection committee bolstered New Zealand’s pace options by recalling fast bowling spearheads Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke. Both speedsters were not part of the New Zealand squad that faced West Indies at home back in December last year.

Kane Williamson, Kyle Jamieson among IPL stars set for national duty

On Wednesday, May 6, the NZC announced a strong 19-member squad for the upcoming Test series in Ireland and England. Tom Latham will continue to lead the national side on both tours, and he will be accompanied by comeback pacemen Kyle Jamieson and Will O’Rourke.

It is worth noting that Jamieson is currently in India as part of the Delhi Capitals franchise for the IPL 2026 season. Glenn Phillips is also a part of the Gujarat Titans set-up for the tournament. Former New Zealand captain and all-time batting great Kane Williamson is also in India, albeit as a Strategic Advisor of the LSG franchise.

While the squad features several senior pros like Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell and captain Latham himself, the NZC has also named two potential debutants in the form of Kristian Clarke and Dean Foxcroft.

Notably, Kristian is only a part of the New Zealand squad for the one-off Test against Ireland. Michael Rae and Will Young are the other players who will fly back to New Zealand after the Ireland Test. Here is a look at New Zealand squads for the Ireland Test and the England series.
