Virat Kohli was dismissed for a first-ball duck by Deepak Chahar during RCB’s home game against Mumbai Indians. Opening the innings in Raipur in match number 54 of the IPL 2026 season, the legendary right-hander mistimed the ball towards Raj Bawa at mid-off.
The duck marked Kohli’s second successive innings without opening his account this season, considering the former Indian captain was also dismissed for nought against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) last week in Lucknow. The occasion marked only the second instance for Virat Kohli to register back-to-back ducks in his otherwise storied IPL career.
Notably, Kohli’s latest failure with the bat also opened the floodgates for a wave of hilarious social media memes on X. While several fans trolled the cricketer, some RCB zealots also hoped for his quick return to run-scoring ways.

Virat Kohli just secured his second successive duck this IPL 2026 season, doing so against the Mumbai Indians in Raipur on Sunday, May 10. Opening the innings for the RCB against new ball paceman Deepak Chahar, the legendary right-hander shimmied down the track to try and clear mid-off.
Kohli, however, mistimed the ball, prompting Raj Bawa to take a sensational diving catch around the region.

Getting dismissed for a golden duck, the cricketer was dismissed for a silver duck just a couple of days ago in Lucknow against the LSG franchise. In the game, the cricketer was knocked over by a Prince Yadav thunderbolt in the second over of the RCB innings.

Even though Virat Kohli has been dismissed for two ducks in a row, the cricketer still remains the leading run-maker for his side this IPL 2026 season. The 37-year-old has so far aggregated 379 runs in just 11 innings at a prolific average of 42.11.

The legendary right-hander has plundered three half-centuries in the process, all in winning causes for the RCB franchise. He is leading second-placed RCB batter Devdutt Padikkal by more than 50 runs.

Mumbai Indians batted first and charted 166-7 in 20 overs. Tilak Varma top-scored in the innings by scoring 57 off 42 balls with three boundaries and two sixes.
For the RCB, ace paceman Bhuvneshwar Kumar unfurled the spell of the innings with exceptional figures of 4-23.
