RCB needed 213 runs to beat LSG and go top of the IPL table, and for that to happen, the franchise needed their star batter, Virat Kohli, to play a longer innings. Kohli loves chasing, and he loves feasting on the pacers. Under lights against the LSG attack, the RCB opener was touted to do well, but Prince Yadav came out of the syllabus.
The ball was doing enough to keep the pacers interested in the contest, but LSG had a tough ask as they needed to dismiss Virat Kohli early to get on top of RCB.
Prince Yadav announces arrival with Kohli's dismissal
RCB had lost Jacob Bethell in the first over as Mohammed Shami got the prized wicket. The second over was bowled by Prince Yadav, and Kohli was in front of him. While any other bowler would have crumbled, Prince rose through the Ashes to bamboozle the great batter.
The RCB player defended the first ball nicely, but it was the second delivery that stunned him. Prince bowled a good length ball that nipped through Kohli’s defence, and it went on to shatter the stumps.

The right-handed batter had hardly left any bat-pad gap, and it was enough for Prince to exploit as Kohli departed for a 2-ball duck, with LSG fans going berserk.
Why the ball to dismiss Kohli was ball of the tournament
What is the definition of a ball of the tournament? It’s not only about how good the delivery was bowled, but also depends upon the context, the batter in front, and the situation.
Many might have bowled even better deliveries to get rid of the batters, but the Prince Yadav delivery was special, and here’s why. First, Virat Kohli is arguably the best hitter of raw pace, and he loves to take on fast bowlers who have raw pace.
There aren’t many who have the ability to dismiss him, the way Prince did. The LSG bowler was fast, furious, and pinpoint with his delivery to shatter Kohli’s stumps. To put this into context, Prince Yadav achieved what many couldn’t do- beat Kohli with raw pace and movement in the IPL.
Moreover, the LSG Vs RCB IPL match was important as the Lucknow side is still alive in the playoff race, and RCB opener’s wicket gave them a ray of hope in the quest to reach the knockouts.
Prince Yadav’s latest message for Virat Kohli
In a recent video interview posted by LSG, Prince Yadav revealed his dream, which was to play alongside Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma in the 2027 World Cup.
The LSG pacer bowls at a good pace, and his skills could be useful in South African conditions, as the pacer is hopeful of finding a place in the India ODI side. peaking about his dream, the right-arm pacer said:
“Right now, what I want is to play with Virat and Rohit bhaiyya at the 2027 World Cup, and we win it,” Prince said in a video posted by LSG.
“Aur woh hum jeete toh unke liye bahut achi cheez hogi (If we win it, it will be really good for both of them).
If the pacer continues to deliver in the remainder of the IPL, he might soon receive an India call-up.
