David Warner opted out of the IPL 2026 auction late last year. The legendary Australian went unsold in the IPL 2025 auction, prompting him to not return for the tournament.

It is worth noting that Warner was released by the Delhi Capitals franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 auction.

While the decorated Australian opener had a bitter falling out with the SRH franchise back in 2021, it appears that the cricketer also had a strained relationship with the Capitals ownership, if his recent response to Parth Jindal on social media is anything to go by.

Fans react to David Warner’s two-post response to Capitals owner

On Tuesday, June 23, Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal posted a congratulatory message for outbound spinner Kuldeep Yadav. Jindal praised Kuldeep and wished him luck as the Indian cricketer heads into the LSG franchise for next year’s IPL 2027 season.

The Capitals co-owner also welcomed Rishabh Pant, who was traded from LSG in exchange of Kuldeep Yadav.

David Warner, who was also surprisingly released by the Delhi Capitals franchise way back after IPL 2024, responded with a ‘laughing emoji’ to Parth Jindal’s message on Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant trade.

A few minutes later, Warner also added that such a player swap was inevitable by explaining that players who lose their form tend to lose their places in the team.

In any case, David Warner’s response to Parth Jindal left fans in a jiffy, with many wondering if the legendary Australian opener also had a toxic fallout with the Delhi Capitals, much like he had with the SRH franchise. Some fans also argued that Warner was pocking fun at the LSG-Capitals trade between Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav.

Here is a look at some of the fans reacting to Warner’s response to the Delhi Capitals owner on Tuesday, June 23.

David Warner’s fallout with SRH

David Warner was released by the SRH franchise back in 2021 ahead of the IPL 2022 season. The legendary Australian opener spent seven seasons with the franchise, and led them to IPL 2016 win by defeating RCB in the final.

The left-handed batter also scored heaps of runs for the franchise, and bagged the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ thrice in his career.

Despite Warner’s proficiency with the SRH, the cricketer was released after undergoing just one poor season in 2021. The cricketer has seemingly cut all ties with the SRH management since then, and has even indirectly expressed his frustration with the ‘Orange Army’ on social media on several occasions.

LSG-DC complete Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav trade

On June 23, the Delhi Capitals and LSG franchises successfully completed the trade between Kuldeep Yadav and Rishabh Pant. Both cricketers underwent below-par season for their franchises in IPL 2026 this year.

Under the leadership of Pant, LSG even finished at the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table.
