Shree Charani has become the new number one ranked bowler in Women’s T20I ICC bowling rankings. The cricketer has scaled the top spot on the ICC charts for the first time in her career.
Charani has been rewarded with the number one ranking following her prolific beginnings to the ongoing 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The 21-year-old has bagged 10 wickets in just three matches of the tournament so far at an exceptional bowling average of 6.40.
Notably, Charani made her T20I debut for Team India on June 28 last year, making her rise to the summit of the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings in less than a year all the more remarkable.

Charani followed it up with another four-fer, this time against Netherlands a couple of days later in Leeds. While the youngster also ruffled South Africa’s batting line-up in Manchester with tight figures of 3-24, Team India failed to defeat the Proteas in the high-octane game.
