Bangladesh and West Indies will face each other in the series-deciding second Test at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. The match will be played between November 5 and November 9.

Bangladesh vs West Indies 2nd Test, 2026 Preview

West Indies thrashed hosts Bangladesh by eight wickets in Mirpur to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series. Jomel Warrican won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his exceptional nine-wicket match haul.

West Indies also defeated Sri Lanka 1-0 at home in June this year, and levelled with Pakistan 1-1 the following month.

The Bangladesh team, on the other hand, need to win the impending second Test in a bid to level their home series and to keep their outside chances alive in the ongoing 2025-27 WTC cycle.

Here is a look at a predicted playing XI for the West Indies team for the second Test match of the series against Bangladesh.

Openers and Top Order: John Campbell, Brandon King, Tagenarine Chanderpaul

John Campbell and Brandon King will continue to open the innings for West Indies. Both cricketers struck a half-century each for the West Indies in a match-winning cause in the first Test of the series.

Campbell himself scored over 100 runs in the match, while King composed an unbeaten 81* off 115 balls to anchor his side to an eight-wicket win.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul at number three also struck an elegant 56 in the first West Indies innings of the match. The left-handed batter also unleashed a few crucial knocks in New Zealand last year.

Middle-order and All-rounders: Kavem Hodge, Justin Greaves, Amir Jangoo, Roston Chase

Kavem Hodge will once again be expected to helm the West Indies middle-order alongside all-rounder Justin Graves and wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo.

Hodge, averaging nearly 30 in the format, clubbed 31* off just 27 balls in Mirpur last week. Justin Greaves made 46 fighting runs in the first innings of the match. Amir Jangoo, on the other hand, holds a penchant of scoring crucial runs while batting with the middle and lower order, and holds an average of 37.33 in the format.

Captain Roston Chase demonstrated his all-round dexterity in the match with his quick 43* and a record five-wicket haul. He will likely bat at number seven once again for his side.

Bowlers: Kemar Roach, Shamar Joseph, Jomel Warrican, Jayden Seales

Experienced fast bowler Kemar Roach will likely return to the West Indies playing XI in place of spinner Joshua Bishop. The speedster will be expected to share the new ball with fellow tearaway paceman Shamar Joseph.

In-form Jomel Warrican, who bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award in Mirpur for his nine-wicket match haul, will once again lead the West Indies spin attack.

Jayden Seales will also reprise his role in the West Indies playing XI as another quality specialist fast bowler.
