Bangladesh will look to bounce back when they take on West Indies in the second Test of the series in November 5. The visitors secured a convincing eight-wicket victory in the opening encounter at Mirpur, leaving the hosts with plenty to address ahead of the next match.

While Bangladesh showed some resistance in the first innings, their batting collapsed in the second, allowing West Indies to chase down a target of 170 with ease.

Despite the disappointing result, Bangladesh are expected to retain the same playing XI for the upcoming fixture. Now, ahead of the second Test, let's take a look at the predicted playing XI Bangladesh could field against West Indies.

Top Order: Shadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan, Amite Hasan

Shadman Islam will continue to open the innings for Bangladesh after producing an impressive performance in the first Test. He scored 105 in the first innings and followed it up with 13 in the second.

With 118 runs across both innings, Shadman was Bangladesh's leading run-scorer in the match and will be expected to provide another strong start.

Tanzid Hasan, meanwhile, had a disappointing outing in the opening Test. He managed just seven runs in the first innings before getting dismissed for a duck in the second. However, Bangladesh are likely to give him another opportunity at the top of the order.

Amite Hasan will occupy the number three position, replacing Mominul Haque, who was ruled out mid-match in the 1st Test. Notably, Amite bagged an unbeaten 201 in the fourth round of the National Cricket League (NCL) 2026 and was rewarded immediately with a recall.

Middle Order and All-Rounders: Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nayeem Hasan

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto is expected to retain his place in the middle order. He scored 19 in the first innings and 10 in the second, finishing the match with 29 runs.

Towhid Hridoy is another player likely to feature in the middle order. He scored 42 in the first innings but failed to open his account in the second. Despite the contrasting performances, his ability to build an innings makes him a useful option for Bangladesh in the upcoming Test.

Litton Das will continue to take charge of the wicketkeeping duties while batting in the middle order. He remained unbeaten on 34 in the first innings but could manage only four runs in the second. With 38 runs in the match, Litton will be keen to make a bigger impact with the bat.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be an important all-round option for the hosts. He scored 15 and nine across the two innings while picking up two wickets in the match.

Nayeem Hasan was arguably one of Bangladesh's most effective performers in the opening Test. The off-spinner picked up four wickets in the first innings, finishing with figures of 4/33. He also contributed 57 runs with the bat, including a valuable 52 in the second innings.

Bowlers: Hasan Mahmud, Taijul Islam, Shoriful Islam

Hasan Mahmud is expected to lead Bangladesh's pace attack alongside Shoriful Islam. Mahmud picked up two wickets across the match, including one in each innings.

Taijul Islam will continue to spearhead the spin department alongside Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Nayeem Hasan. However, he had a relatively quiet outing in the first Test, claiming two wickets while conceding 130 runs across the two innings.

Completing the bowling attack will be Shoriful Islam. The left-arm pacer picked up two wickets in the match, including one in the second innings. He will be expected to provide early breakthroughs and support Hasan Mahmud in the pace department.
