Mohammad Rizwan, one of Pakistan’s most consistent performers with the bat for a while, is going through a torrid time. And on Thursday, things turned from bad to worse while captaining RawalPINDIZ during a PSL 2026 match against Hyderabad Kingsmen at National Stadium, Karachi.
Rizwan made 41 in his first PSL match this season, but followed it with the scores of 21, 2, 19 and 0. And on Thursday, he could only manage 15 off 16 balls before being cleaned up by one of Pakistan’s forgotten speedsters, Mohammad Ali.
Mohammad Ali Catches Rizwan Off Guard
It was a length delivery by Mohammad Ali, who came during the 5th over of RawalPINDIZ’s innings. The ball came towards the stumps quickly, and Rizwan did not move an inch before it rattled the stumps.
After seeing himself getting cleaned up in that manner, Rizwan was stunned for a while at the crease before he started to walk off slowly.

Who Is Mohammad Ali?
Mohammad Ali was one of the most impressive performers with the ball in the domestic circuit in Pakistan at one stage. He was exceptionally well in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, becoming the leading wicket-taker in the competition for two consecutive sessions, which helped him to earn a Test debut for Pakistan.
Ali made his Test debut in December 2022, against England in Rawalpindi. After that, he only played 4 Tests, 1 ODIs and 3 T20Is for Pakistan, but did not get a chance to wear the national colours any further.
Ali’s last match was a T20I, which came in March 2025 against New Zealand.
Mohammad Rizwan's Numbers In PSL
Over the years, Rizwan has played for four teams in the Pakistan Super League, with newly introduced RawalPINDIZ being his latest. So far, he has played 99 matches, aggregating 2868 runs with an average of 40.39 while striking under 130.
Rizwan made his PSL debut in 2015/16. Back then, he used to represent Lahore Qalandars, where Shaheen Afridi is currently leading the side and has won the title as a leader for a record three times.
He was at his very best for three successive years in the PSL between 2020 and 2022, when he scored 500 or more runs each time for the franchise. Back then, he used to play for Multan Sultans.
Rizwan Retired Out In BBL
Mohammad Rizwan, the third-highest run getter in the T20 World Cup 2021, had a tough time in the Big Bash League (BBL) last season. There, playing for Melbourne Renegades, he was retired out by the franchise, courtesy of playing in a slow and showing lack of intent.
It was Rizwan’s first BBL season, where he could only make 187 runs across 10 innings at a strike rate of just 102.74.
