Peshawar Zalmi crushed Quetta Gladiators in match number 23 of the PSL 2026 season in Karachi. Captain Babar Azam struck an unbeaten 71* in a clinical run chase as the Zalmi franchise maintained its unbeaten run this tournament.

Apart from putting up a comprehensive performance in both aspects of the game at the National Stadium on Wednesday, April 15; the Peshawar Zalmi team also committed a fielding blunder of the highest order, doing so during the fag end of the Quetta Gladiators innings.

The comical fielding error committed by young Farhan Yousaf might have even left his captain Babar Azam dumbfounded as the franchise lost an easy opportunity to complete a run out of a free-hit delivery.

Babar Azam’s team commits hilarious run out fail

Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam employed fast bowler Ali Raza to bowl the final over of the Quetta Gladiators innings in match number 23 of the PSL 2026 season on April 15. The paceman started off the over with two dots and a single, before sending down a no-ball delivery.

With tailender Abrar Ahmed facing the free-hit delivery for the Quetta Gladiators, the cricketer sliced the ball towards backward point and took off for a run. Farhan Yousaf fielded the ball in the region, and instead of having a shy at the stumps, the cricketer started running towards the striker’s end before changing course towards the non-striker’s end.

When Farhan ultimately had a go at the stumps, he completely missed his target. Even the two tailenders failed to pick up a single run off Farhan Yousaf’s fielding error, as the two batters came running halfway down the pitch before returning back to their respective crease.

For Zalmi, Mohammad Basit (3-36) and Sufiyan Muqeem (3-25) both picked up three wickets each in the game. Another three as run outs and a solitary wicket from Iftikhar Ahmed folded up the Quetta Gladiators for just 154 in 20 overs.
