India's young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has grabbed everyone's attention with his fearless style of play.

However, ahead of the all-important 4th T20I against England on July 9, former India wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel has pointed out an area where the youngster still needs to improve.

Although Sooryavanshi impressed everyone during the IPL, the 15-year-old is yet to make a big impact in international cricket. Notably, he made his debut in the 2nd T20I against England and has shown glimpses of his talent, but he is still searching for a memorable innings.

So far in the series, Sooryavanshi has scored 14 runs off 10 balls in the second T20I and followed it up with 13 runs off just five deliveries in the third match.

Parthiv Patel Explains England's Strategy Against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi

Speaking on Jio Hotstar, Parthiv Patel said England's plan against Sooryavanshi was clear from the IPL itself.

According to Parthiv Patel, bowlers will continue to test the youngster with short balls as his international career progresses.

“Not just Jofra Archer, I think anyone who watched the IPL would not be surprised that there is a deliberate plan to bowl short to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. It wasn't just the wicket ball; the ball before it was short as well. In the first game, on the delivery he hit for six, it may not have bounced as much, but the line was the same," Parthiv said.

Furthermore, Patel believes this challenge will only become tougher in international cricket, where bowlers regularly deliver at speeds above 145 km/h.

"As Vaibhav Sooryavanshi progresses in his international career, he will continue to face this kind of bowling, with deliveries that are short and above 145 km/h. So, the question will definitely be how he copes against short-pitched bowling, because every bowler will look to target him there," he added.

Parthiv Patel Wants Better Game Awareness From Team India

Meanwhile, Parthiv Patel also urged the Indian batting unit to show better game awareness in the fourth T20I. India suffered a dramatic collapse for just 78 runs in the third match, leading to one of their biggest defeats in T20I history.

Patel believes India's experienced batters should adjust better to English conditions instead of trying to score quickly from the very beginning.

"I would like to see a better understanding of the game and a bit more game awareness from the Indian batters in Bristol. Yes, there are 200 runs on the board, but these are all experienced T20 batters and, in this format, you have a bit more time than you think," he said.

All Eyes On Vaibhav Sooryavanshi In Must-Win Match

Despite India's struggles, fans continue to have high hopes for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The young opener has shown his attacking intent, but he now faces the challenge of proving himself against quality pace bowling.

Notably, India are still searching for their first win of the tour after suffering a crushing 125-run defeat in the third T20I at Nottingham. Now, with the series on the line, India must win the fourth T20I in Bristol on Thursday to keep their hopes alive.
