England right-arm quick Jofra Archer has taken a dig at the IPL after playing a match-winning role in England's dominant victory over India in the 3rd T20I.

The England pacer also threw an open challenge to India's teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as their exciting rivalry continues to grab attention.

Notably, Archer's remarks came after England handed India their biggest-ever defeat in T20I history with a massive 125-run win at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on July 7.

England Register Record Win Over India

England produced a dominant all-round performance to outclass India in the third T20I. Batting first, the hosts posted an impressive total of 201/7, with opener Phil Salt leading the charge by smashing 70 runs off 44 balls.

In reply, India's batting line-up suffered a shocking collapse and was bundled out for just 76 runs. Notably,  Josh Tongue starred with the ball by picking up four wickets, while Archer also made a huge impact with figures of 3/29 in 3 overs.

His brilliant spell earned him POTM award as England sealed a comprehensive victory.

Jofra Archer Takes A Dig At IPL Conditions

After receiving the award, Jofra Archer was asked how his bowling plans against Indian batters in England differed from those during IPL.

The England pacer said bowling in English conditions allows bowlers to stick to traditional methods by bowling straight and hitting a good length.

However, he pointed out that the IPL is much tougher for bowlers because the pitches heavily favour batters and the boundaries are much smaller.

"I think it goes back to normal here. You try to bowl the ball straight on a good length. Whereas over there, because the wickets are so easy and the boundaries are so small, you have to be really, really particular. Here, I feel your margin for error is a little bit bigger," Archer said.

Furthermore, Jofra Archer explained that England always believed their score of 201 would be enough to defend.

According to him, a total above 200 is usually competitive in England. However, he noted that in the IPL, even such scores are regularly chased down because of flatter pitches and shorter boundaries, making life much harder for bowlers.

"At the IPL, sometimes 200 isn't safe. With 200 on the board on that wicket, I don't want to say we were confident, but I felt it would have taken a really special innings to chase it down," he added.

Jofra Archer And Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's Rivalry Heats Up

Apart from his comments on the IPL, Jofra Archer also spoke about his growing battle with India's teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

Interestingly, the two share a connection through Rajasthan Royals, where they were teammates during the IPL. However, they are now facing each other in the ongoing T20I series between England and India.

On his T20I debut in Manchester, Sooryavanshi took on Archer by smashing him for a six before scoring 14 runs. In the third T20I at Trent Bridge, he once again attacked the England pacer and hit him for another maximum.

Jofra Archer Has The Final Say

Although Sooryavanshi managed to score freely against Archer, the England speedster eventually had the last laugh.

Notably, Archer dismissed the young opener for 13 runs off 5 balls after forcing him into a mistimed pull shot that resulted in a faint edge behind the wicket.

Speaking about their on-field contest, Archer admitted that the rivalry is evenly balanced for now. "Well yeah, I think it's even now. But we've got another two games left and it could go either way, so may the best man win," Archer said.

With England leading the five-match T20I series 2-0, both teams will now lock horns in the 4th T20I at the County Ground in Bristol on July 9.
