Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is set to make his Team India debut later this week as the youngster is selected in the national squad for the upcoming two-match T20I series in Ireland. The 15-year-old recently bagged the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ this IPL 2026 season, and also lifted the 2026 ICC Men’s U19 World Cup in Zimbabwe earlier this year.
As Vaibhav continues to rise through the ranks in Indian cricket, his younger brother, Aashirwad Sooryavanshi, is silently making his own name in local cricket tournaments. Aged 10, young Aashirwad recently plundered 168 runs off just 119 balls with 19 boundaries and six huge sixes at a staggering strike rate of 141.18.

Aashirwad Sooryavanshi bludgeoned 168 runs off just 119 balls with 19 boundaries and six huge sixes in a local cricket tournament. Opening the innings for ‘Rishav XI’, the 10-year-old maintained an astonishing batting strike rate of 141.18 in his knock before getting dismissed.

Young Sooryavanshi’s innings helped the Rishav XI side mount 311-7 in a 40-overs game. The team ended up defeating Vaishali XI in the local match, as held in Samastipur in Bihar.
Acknowledging his younger brother’s achievement, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took to his Instagram account and expressed his admirations by sharing a story post. Vaibhav tagged his brother and followed it up with a couple of ‘clapping emojis’ in the caption.
When Vaibhav showered love for Aashirwad Sooryavanshi
This was not the first instance of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi publicly acknowledging about his brother Aashirwad Sooryavanshi on social media.
Just a couple of weeks ago, young Aashirwad smashed 103 runs off just 87 balls while playing for the Cricket Academy Tajpur in Samastipur. The 10-year-old launched 20 fours and a six in his innings, thus aggregating 86 of his runs from boundaries alone.
Back then, Vaibhav took to his Instagram account and congratulated his younger brother.
Aashirwad’s explosive beginnings has prompted many fans and cricket experts to believe that the youngster might well be following Vaibhav’s path, with a bright future in Indian cricket seemingly already taking shape at a remarkably young age.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi set for India debut after IPL 2026, tri-series riches
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is expected to make his Team India debut either this week or next month, considering the 15-year-old has been selected in the national squad for their upcoming T20I tours of Ireland and England.
The youngster was selected in the national team following his record-breaking run in the IPL 2026 season for the Rajasthan Royals. Sooryavanshi aggregated 776 runs in just 16 innings of the tournament at an average of 48.50 to bag the coveted ‘Orange Cap’ award, thus becoming the youngest player in history to claim the honour.
Vaibhav also launched 72 sixes in the season to become the leading six-hitter in a single season of the tournament, going past Chris Gayle’s decade-long record.
The youngster also starred in India A’s tri-series win against hosts and finalists Sri Lanka A in Dambulla a few days ago.
