After the mayhem broke in the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2026), which involved the defending champions Lahore Qalandars majorly, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has shown his distress.

With just seven games done this season, controversies related to the PSL 2026 have already started to create buzz on social media.

The Shaheen Shah Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars are currently handing two major setbacks, which involves ball tampering allegations and a security breach that involved Zimbabwean captain Sikandar Raza.

Shaheen Afridi, Sikandar Raza's security breach

It all started when captain Shaheen Shah Afridi and Sikandar Raza "forcefully escorted" four visitors to the floor where the entire Lahore Qalandars team was staying in the hotel last Saturday, breaking the serious security protocols set up by the local authorities.

As the Lahore duo took their guests to one of the players' rooms, the deputy police inspector wrote a complaint letter to PSL CEO Salman Naseer, addressing the matter. It later led to the team owner, Sameen Rana, fining Lahore's captain PKR 1 million (approx. USD 3,600).

Meanwhile, Sikandar Raza has faced no repercussions, but his contract in the PSL may come under scrutiny.

The next day, during the clash between Karachi Kings and the Qalandars, Fakhar Zaman was found to have tampered with the condition of the ball.

Later, PCB intervened and charged the 35-year-old batter with Level 3 Offence under Article 2.14 of the applicable Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. Although the batter denied the charges, a hearing on the matter will be scheduled soon.

Mohsin Naqvi unhappy with PSL controversies

The PCB Chairman very disappointed with the two controveries in the PSL 2026, especially when the tournament is getting hosted under challenging circumstances due to the war.

"(PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is not happy in particular about the hotel incident since the PCB is taking great care to ensure the event is held without an incident and has even disallowed spectators for the league matches at the Gaddafi stadium for the time being," a PCB source told PTI.

It is worth mentioning that the PSL 2026 is being hosted behind closed doors due to fuel shortage in the country due to the Iran-Israel & US War in the Middle East.

Naseem Shah slapped with biggest fine in PAK history

In other news, Naseem Shah, who is with the RawalPindiz, has been slapped with the biggest fine in Pakistan cricket history of PKR 20 million (approx. USD 72000) after the cricketer posted a post criticising Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz.

Shah had mocked the Punjab CM by tweeting: "Why is she treated like the Queen at Lord's?" after she was welcomed by the PCB before the inaugural match of the season. Minutes after posting the same, the post was deleted from the cricketer's social media handle. However, it was enough to fuel a controversy.

The PCB released its verdict in a press release, stating that Naseem Shah has apologised and fired his social media manager, who had tweeted on the cricketer's behalf.

Interestingly, the 23-year-old seamer was the most expensive buy of the inaugural PSL auction ahead of this season, when the RawalPindiz acquired him for a whopping PKR 86.5 million (approx. 301000 USD).

Nevertheless, Naseem Shah will be next in action on April 2 (Thursday) when his team takes on Karachi Kings in Lahore.
