Rohit Sharma to miss more matches in IPL 2026
Rohit Sharma missed yet another Mumbai Indians game, this time against the CSK franchise in match number 44 of the IPL 2026 season in Chennai. The legendary opener is yet to fully recover from his hamstring injury.

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has now confirmed that Sharma will “need a couple more games” before he can attain full recovery and make his return to the team’s starting XI.
Kyle Jamieson punished by BCCI for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi send-off
Delhi Capitals fast bowler Kyle Jamieson was handed one demerit point by the BCCI. The speedster was punished by the Indian board for his aggressive reaction to the dismissal of Rajasthan Royals opening batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi during their IPL 2026 match earlier this week.
Jamieson also received an official warning from the BCCI for breaching Level 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials.
India Women squad for T20 World Cup 2026 unveiled
The BCCI has announced a strong 15-player India Women squad for the upcoming 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in June. Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the side, and she will be accompanied by her deputy and fellow senior Smriti Mandhana. Shreyanka Patil, Deepti Sharma and Shafali Verma are among some of the other star attractions in the side.
The same 15-member group will also face hosts England in a short T20I series before the showpiece event.
IPL 2026 playoffs venues to be confirmed by BCCI
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has said that the board will be finalizing the venues of the playoffs of the IPL 2026 season in “two days”. While speaking with the reporters, Saikia also refused to respond to a query that hinted if the upcoming playoffs will follow the convention of last year’s finalists hosting them at their home venues.
Another report states that the Mullanpur and Chinnaswamy Stadiums have emerged as leading candidates to host IPL 2026 playoffs.
Ish Sodhi surpasses Tim Southee for huge NZ record
New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi picked up the wicket of Shamim Hossain in the third T20I of the three-match series against Bangladesh in Mirpur. With his match-winning spell, Sodhi surpassed former speedster Tim Southee to become New Zealand’s most successful T20I bowler in history.
The cricketer also became the second leading wicket-taker in T20I matches overall, falling only behind Rashid Khan at the moment.
