Pakistan Super League (PSL) has been in the news for multiple reasons lately, whether that is good or bad. Once again on Tuesday, one of the pacers who took part in the ongoing edition made headlines.

There have been multiple players, including Blessing Muzarabani and Dasun Shanaka, among others, who were banned by the Mohsin Naqvi-led PCB for participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) after their PSL commitments. In the middle of the chaos, an active PSL player had to pay the price, leaving fans to raise their eyebrows.

Peter Siddle Blocked From T20 Blast

Veteran Australian pacer Peter Siddle will not be playing the upcoming Vitality T20 Blast, his franchise, Notts Outlaws, confirmed the development. The 41-year-old, who became the second-oldest PSL debutant this year while representing Multan Sultans, will not be playing England's primary T20 competiton for his involvement in the 'disapproved' league.

Siddle, along with Samit Patel, took part in Goa tournament named World Legends Pro T20 League, which was not sanctioned by the BCCI. Hence, both of them paid the price, as confirmed by ESPNCricinfo.

“ECB regulations state that players are ineligible to play county cricket if they have featured in any "disapproved cricket" in the 12 months before the start of a given season. Siddle and Patel both featured in the World Legends Pro T20 League in January-February, which is considered 'disapproved' as it was not sanctioned by the BCCI,” the report read.

"We're naturally disappointed that Peter won't be able to join us this summer, as we were looking forward to having a player of his calibre and experience as part of our T20 squad," Mick Newell, Nottinghamshire's Director of Cricket, confirmed in a statement.

"We'll now focus our efforts on securing the services of a replacement for this summer's competition."

How Has Peter Siddle Performed In PSL?

Siddle has played seven matches so far in PSL 2026, his first-ever stint in the competition. He has been quite impressive with the ball in hand, having only had one occasion where he did not get a wicket.

So far, Siddle has taken eight wickets at a decent economy rate of 8.53. Riding on his continuous success, among other things, Multan Sultans have won five out of their seven matches in PSL 2026. Only Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi had a better record than them this season.

When Was The Last Time Peter Siddle Played For Notts

Siddle, now playing in PSL, was part of the Nottinghamshire squad way back in 2014. Back then, he was there for the County Championship, England’s main domestic competition for red-ball cricket. He was pretty good back then, claiming 37 First-Class wickets in 11 outings.

Apart from Nottinghamshire, Peter Siddle played for Durham, Essex, Lancashire and Somerset in England’s domestic circuit.

Peter Siddle Records In T20s

Even at the age of 41, Siddle is still going strong, bowling at a good amount of pace while making batters’ lives miserable. Therefore, Nottinghamshire signed him for the full T20 Blast season, only to see him get ruled out for the entire edition later.

Over the years, Peter Siddle has played 151 T20s, picking up 177 wickets for different franchises across the globe. He has been supremely successful with the ball, with an economy rate of 7.77 speaking volumes.

In addition, Siddle was exceptionally well in the recent BBL edition as well. There, he scalped 16 wickets in 11 matches, that too at an economy rate of just 7.12.
