Just when Axar Patel was retired hurt amid tremendous pain on Saturday in the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) IPL 2026 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Krunal Pandya made the moment special, helping RCB improve its position in the IPL Fair Play Award Standings.
In the middle of batting impressively after a poor run of form in IPL 2026, Axar was in a lot of pain while coming to bat on Saturday afternoon against RCB. Eventually, he had to walk off the field, as Krunal Pandya carried him like a brother while he was going off, making it one of the most memorable IPL moments in the tournament’s history.

Axar Patel had the scores of duck, 2 and 1 before coming to the RCB vs DC IPL 2026 match. He made 26 off 19 balls, which had three fours to keep DC in control against the Rajat Patidar-led side.
However, soon after, he seemed in pain, and due to that, the match was interrupted due to the same reason, not just once but twice.

Not to forget, there is an IPL Fair Play Award going on whenever the season is happening. There, RCB are currently ninth on the table, only above Delhi Capitals.

Despite KL Rahul’s half-century on his birthday and Axar Patel retired hurt, coupled with Axar Patel’s blitz, Delhi Capitals lost their control at the fag end of the chase against RCB, who wore green jerseys on Saturday.
However, David Miller changed the script, smashing Romario Shepherd from left, right and centre to take DC home with a ball and six wickets in spare.
With the win, DC moved up to fourth on the IPL points table.
