Jason Holder has not retired from ODI format, and this has now been clarified by Daren Sammy after he earlier stated that West Indies star all-rounder had retired from the 50-over format.
On July 12, Daren Sammy said that Holder had retired from ODI cricket. “Jason is still in the mix for Tests. I know he’s retired from ODI cricket,” Sammy had said.
“He has spoken about his interest, but obviously, you know he’s a franchise player as well. So, it’s us talking about his availability, where he fits. But yeah, he’s made it clear that he’s still interested in Test cricket.”
Daren Sammy issues clarification on Jason Holder's ODI status

“I would like to clarify comments I made during my recent appearance on The Scoop regarding Jason Holder's One-Day International (ODI) status,” said Sammy.
“In responding to a question about Jason’s international future outside of T20 cricket, I mistakenly referred to him as having retired from ODI cricket. That was an incorrect choice of words on my part, and I sincerely apologise to Jason, Cricket West Indies, and our fans for the confusion it has caused.

“The correct position is that Jason has taken an indefinite break from ODI cricket. He has not retired from the format, and he remains very much in the mix for West Indies selection. Jason continues to be an important part of our player pool, and Cricket West Indies remains in regular dialogue with him regarding his availability across all formats of the international game.
“Once again, I regret the error and appreciate the opportunity to set the record straight.”
